Personally, I think expectations of MMA as a sport are unrealistic. Where is the promise of integrity, sportsmanship, merit-based matches, skilled athletics or any of the other tropes? Its just fighting in a cage for money. Gloss it up however you want. If you come into this sport and this promotion with preconceived notions about what it should or shouldn't be then your almost guaranteed disappointment at some point.

I watch it cuz its the only real outlet for "MMA". I like MMA, not roided cage fighters spewing blood while drunken fans scream.

I come to MMA expecting violence and then I see Silva crying and Jones deleting tweets.

Guess you must be disappointed then cause you just described an increasing number of the athletes and about 95% of your fellow fans.

Can't be throwing spinning shit all the time bro. Eventually have to find things to do between matches.

been saying this for a while.

I dont necessarily want human cockfighting old school UFC 1 style... but for fucks sakes stop with this "mixed martial arts" crap. It's Cage Fighting

and that's why I don't worry about any potential "image problem" that people talk about when it comes to roids or cocain or any other scandal that has people talking about UFC's "image being ruined"

This isn't a family sport! Anyone who would stop watching CAGE FIGHTING cause the athletes are on drugs isn't the type of person who's likely to have been watching CAGE FIGHTING in the first place

The only sensible post^^^^ on here. GREAT JOB!

Roided up cage fighters performing in front of drunken fans IS mma. I seriously think half the people on here would be better off watching taekwondo competitons.

Just what ive been saying. MMA will never be a pure sport. Too much money involved, to much emphasis on entertainment to hold viewer attention and ultimately too much violence for it ever to move much beyond what it has regardless of the wishful thinking.

It's not real without a bunch of mexicans jumping you once you start winning the fight

I agree with him. Fuck MMA fans. I love the sport but I want it cleaned. Can't respect a cheater
