They let him fight for a title without getting him on a new longer contract. I doubt they ever make that mistake again.
They have to offer their fighters fights, though.
It was the same with Nate.
He told them he wasn't signing a contract, but they still had to offer him fights.
They ain't gotta offer him a title shot though.

Nah, they have champions clause that extends the contract so having him be champion gave them more leverage in negotiations
Not anymore they dont
They force extensions all the time. If you turn down a fight because you are injured, they extend the contract. If you can’t fight because they didn’t renew your visa, they extend your contract. If you turn down a fight becuase it was offered to you on ten minutes notice, they extend your contract. It’s called “tolling” and it’s written into the contract itself. The UFC can't force an extension..... because they have a contract.

To be fair he was not talking about boxing and stuff. At the time he was a good company man, there was no indication he would not just be happy with more pay as champion. They let him fight for a title without getting him on a new longer contract. I doubt they ever make that mistake again.
You are right. They let him fight for a title without getting him on a new longer contract. I doubt they ever make that mistake again.
I am confused, why were people talking about him boxing nearly a year ago? Sherdog will not let me embed these videos. To be fair he was not talking about boxing and stuff. At the time he was a good company man, there was no indication he would not just be happy with more pay as champion.
Maybe you should try reading what TS actually wrote. They're talking about a time when Francis was not champion.I am confused, why were people talking about him boxing nearly a year ago? Sherdog will not let me embed these videos.
