The quality of human being in this forum has deteriorated sharply

You're right, so should boxers, football players and rugby players.

Yeah, let's ban MMA to protect the fighters. Or maybe not worry about their feeling getting hurt, if we're OK with their brains rattling around in their skulls?

I think it has been like this always pretty much. Never been a super nice place. Though I guess people might have gotten banned faster or there where fewer extremely obnoxious people around.
What I think sucks now is how many of the threads created are about nothing, disguised as Ronda or McGregor threads, and "memes".

this forum reflects that values and attitudes of the fighters. right now you have a lot of arrogant loud mouth bullies. people like that are prime targets when their fall from grace eventually comes. when Connor loses, this place is going to look like Blood Sunday

The better way to interpret your response is, let's forget human empathy if the sport they're involved in has the potential to cause brain injuries. If we hate human suffering, we should hate the sport.

Why not slippery slope and apply this to the military? Should I not care about the emotional trauma a veteran suffers if I was OK with them being involved in the war? Not equating the two, just equating the logic.

1. Maybe you are too dumb to realize this, but Ronda admitting she briefly thought about suicide does not tell you what Cain, Aldo, Weidman or anyone else in the fucking world was thinking.

2. You complain about how Holly Holm was treated by Ronda, but you forget it was her that was treated that way, no you. And instead of observing how she handled it, you somehow take it upon yourself to play the role of a dirtbag social justice warrior superhero to avenge the honor of Holly Holm. You guys all sound so pathetic.

Shut the fuck up. Everything he said was legit. Ronda was the most ignorant person to other fighters, and now plays the victim when it's finally her losing. She's getting a lot of shit but you live by the sword you die by the sword. Everyone likes to see a bully be put in their place, and that's exactly what she was.

Your butt hurt is pathetic.

accelerated right around the time a certain irishman appeared on the scene.
What does Conor being Irish have to do with it? This is always raised when discussing Conor, like its some kind of negative trait. If chael came back and started rustling jimmies, we wouldn't refer to him as a 'certain american'. The level of anti Irish sentiment here is disturbing. And I say that as an Englishman.

Alongside this, the genuine hatred of Ronda after her loss, the disdain shown towards cm punk, even the blatant Conor trolls looking to bait people with stupid hyperbole; the list goes on. There are still good reasons to come here but they're diminishing. The quality is definitely reducing but I don't think it's any one factor. It's almost a perfect storm of human bullshit

The Irish better hide when their golden boy lose. And Conors loss will be very similar to Rondas in that it will be a severe beating. MMA has never been classy and respectful sport and the people competing in it has never been classy. Its a myth that some fans love to spread for whatever reason. MMA fighters are mostly assholes and the sport in general attract people who liked to see other people get beat up. I mean majority of posters want knees on the ground back....that says everything.

Been nothing but assholes and haters since I joined so I guess at least I didn't have to see anything go downhill. Silver lining!

Every forum on the internet suffers from this same fate.

The old internet with interesting ideas and discussion has diminished to memespeak and casuals just trying to be liked or troll.

I may have a 2013 account but im in my 30s and have been on internet forums since the mid-90s, and i have definitely noticed the decline in discussion and fresh logical perspectives.

I disagree. The level of hate will certainly not be on the same degree as Ronda Rousey, in my opinion. Because to argue that Conor McGregor is a horrible, exposed, athlete, as many people apply to Ronda, is to argue that the people he beat are also in that category. At best, I can see people arguing that Conor was overconfident or only won fights with a big weightcut advantage, but thats really as far as it goes IMO. Unless someone wants to generate an excuse for every fight he has had in the UFC.

When ever I hear a celeb who is getting bad press mention suicide, I become suspicious. Its a horrible thing to do, but deep down I think is this something they have been advised to say to get sympathy? Yes its horrible, but we live in a very cynical world

I find the WhiteKnight snitches to be far more annoying.

I completley agree that we live in a very cynical world, but it has caused people to disbelieve something that is right in front of them. Thats just as bad as blindly accepting everything,in order not to think further.

It was all about tranny porn and pride vs ufc before you came. It wasnt much different.

I do notice because fighters bash each other so much now, when posters mimic them mods let them get away with it. 10 years ago if you said a fighter was an asshole or ducking someone you'd get carded. People get away with a lot more.

We learned from the best.

Blame Ronda and Conor for setting the example.

As you can see from my join date, I have been here awhile. Over that time period, the quality of poster in this forum has tanked, big time. Things that would have been deleted as unnecessary fighter bashing in times past are now left to fester. One only needs to look at the reaction threads to Ronda's suicide interview.

It's pathetic.
I think it has to do with the "evolution" of this sport.
If someone was as obnoxious as Conor, he would be bashed and thrown away.
Now he makes millions while the president of the biggest MMA promotion laughs away while he disrespect all their champions.

Can't have it both ways

You can really see the ugliness inside her eyes in that gif.

Irish are proud to be Irish, French are proud to be French, English are proud to be English (not 100% of the time but I'd wager more than 99% of the time), but fewer and fewer Americans seem to be proud to be American. Conor is proud to be Irish and makes it known how proud he is to be Irish, which is probably why people refer to him as an Irishman. I rarely hear negativity towards the Irish in general when discussing Conor. Maybe I should read more Conor threads?

Mods deleted two threads because it was that or just admit hundreds of beyond fighter bashing comments were going to be allowed to slide. And I don't mean small stuff but things like I wish she had killed herself and you said what what we were all thinking and the band of usual suspects looking to get in on the circle-jerk.

While I appreciate the fact that the mods mostly let people interact as adults (grown men shouldn't be crying to mods because someone called them a name) it is different when the behavior in here doesn't pass for any definition of man that i have ever known. They keep this up and this place is going to circle the drain. Although the new breed of MMA fan is one of the worst in all of sports so tbf, the mods have a tough job
