So, much like the thread I did on the brawlers, this one is about pressure Fighters who WEREN'T brawlers, but much better methodical tacticians. The difference between the two is a brawler will wing bombs, mostly hooks and uppercuts. Very few of them possess jabs, and very few of them have sound defense. Pressure Fighters usually have something of a jab, something of defense, and are traditionally known for either iron skulls or excellent recovery from being hurt. So here goes. First two guys who are about to fight each other:

Antonio "Tony" Margarito - Tony's a machine. Hard to hurt, real stopping power in his hands, and never stops punching usually:

Here's the full fight with Golden Johnson, it's not long.

And his opponent: Miguel Angel Cotto.

Trailer for their Fight:

A guy most of you have never seen, "Escopeta" Carlos Monzon:

No thread about pressure Fighters is complete without "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler (and I have to admit this HL is better than mine:

The late Diego "Chico" Corrales:

Chico explains some things:

Diego Corrales' counterpart in History, Jose Luis "El Temible" Castillo (and yes that's Floyd Mayweather Jr. he's roughing up.

The Legendary Roberto Duran:

Former LHW Champion Glen Johnson, I've met Glen and watched him train. At nearly 40 he moved as fast as and for longer than any of the other guys in the Gym. He's one of those guys who just standing next to him you think: This guy can kick my ass. Just ask Roy:

Hope you guys enjoyed, and hope some of you'se MMA heads got some tips on Fighting with pressure using your hands.

Thank god! When you said no thread would be complete without Marvin Hagler I thought OMG he has not put in Roberto Duran!!!!

Great thread btw KK I missed the one on brawlers Ill have to dig it up later!

isnt tony more of a brawler who applies pressure; i mean he is methodical, to a degree, but much more wild and aggressive than the other systematically aggressive guys

I'm surprised you didn't put Chi up there.

Chi falls under the brawler category I think, but the training thread on him went pretty long, and I don't think anyone's made a HL video of him that would fit in here.

It could be argued that way, but really Tony only cuts loose like that when he thinks he's about to finish a guy off. Before that he looks a lot more like Monzon where he stands on the outside and throws 1-2's and 1-4's.

wonderful post KK

I was a little surprised that you didn't put Chi up there too but I guess he does fall along the lines of a brawler more anyways

Hey King I love your posts man. You always have great threads and great topics/vids.

Its threads like this that keep me on sherdog.

Much appreciated, but I'm a bit surprised these guys don't seem to be getting as much love as The Brawlers did. These guys made an Art form out of effective aggression.

how about some kickboxers like sato, le banner, aerts, kalakoda etc.?

You wouldn't call Ricky Hatton a Pressure Fighter?

He's a classic brawler IMO. More Sandy Saddler than Henry Armstrong. If he clinched and held less...

MARVIN HAGLER clip was really good... He fits your description of pressure fighter... Well, perfect!

I didn't, he's in another thread because he actually doesn't fit what I call a pressure Fighter. He leads with his face, and hardly ever uses a jab. That's a brawler in my book, and he's in that thread.

I couldn't find any Fenech highlights to add
