A new study on behalf of cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has found that more than one in three Romanians and one in five Brits would opt for improved intelligence or brainpower with the help of technology, if they could.

Human augmentation is the process of physically improving the body with technology, for example, by inserting a chip into the brain to enable it to function faster and access a wide range of information instantly from the Internet. Men are narrowly more interested in improved brainpower and intelligence than women.

The wide-reaching study of 14,500 adults across 16 countries in Europe and North Africa found that nearly two-thirds (63%) of people surveyed in those territories would consider augmenting our bodies with technology to improve them – either permanently or temporarily. Italians are the most likely to consider human augmentation (81%).

Enhanced brainpower or intelligence was most popular in Romania, where more than a third (35%) would be interested in improving their brainpower, followed by Hungary and Morocco (both 30%). Interest was lowest in Denmark (12%), Germany and Greece (both 16%).

Elon Musk's Neuralink puts computer chips in pigs' brains in bid to cure diseases

Implant could solve ailments such as memory loss, hearing loss, depression and insomnia, Musk said.

The coin-sized device could help a paralyzed person operate technology.

Elon Musk says there's a chance his AI-brain-chip company will be putting implants in humans within a year

Romanians and brits?
Europe's finest and most intelligent indeed.
Hungarians also. They see the future and are smarter than us, or maybe they are really stupid. But no more Sweden? What happened with the Swedish microchip implants?

I certainly wouldn't want to be a first adopter and I'd want to see independent and extensive analysis of the product. Safety, what it's full capabilities are, potential for nefarious use, potential side effects, etc.

The world needs to go back to the middle ages
To the hippie era! The 60s, the 70s and the 80s, the best in history for the West, minus the Vietnam War.

If it would have not been Communism in Central and Eastern Europe, everything would have been wonderful.

A few years in the beginning of the last century had been also good.

Symbiotic relationship with technology is inevitable. If you really think about it we already have one. Is there really that much of a difference with a phone in your hand that you take everywhere with you and a chip in your brain.

I would gladly reject this i had nightmares of this nonsense. Ah yes "Poll nonsense"

The wide-reaching study of 14,500 adults across 16 countries in Europe and North Africa found that nearly two-thirds (63%) of people surveyed in those territories would consider augmenting our bodies with technology to improve them – either permanently or temporarily. LOL really now have they actually asked the real Italians on the streets? this poll is ridicules. These kind of polls are always showing so high on things even on the covid. (75% are likely to get a vaccine for covid polls say)
