Other than Aldo and Faber and maybe Edgar or Mendes.

    Kid Yamamoto
    - largely considered the #1 FW on the planet for some time.
    - went up to LW and won the Hero's LW Grand Prix.
    - dropped down to BW and beat Bibiano Fernandes and Rani Yahya
    - retired from MMA for two years during his physical prime in order to pursue a run at Olympic wrestling. Failed due to an injury and was never the same when he returned to MMA.

    Bibiano Fernandes
    - Started out his career with back to back losses to established FW greats, Faber and Yamamoto.
    - Went on to win the Dream FW Championship, beating Imanari, Warren and Hansen along the way.
    - Dropped to BW, winning two different championships. Probably greatest BW outside of UFC.
    - primary training/sparring partner of Mighty Mouse.

It's a shame Kid and Faber never fought in their prime. They were ranked 1 and 2 on most top 10s.

A Featherweight "Greats" thread with no Mike Brown???

The FW division didn't boom right up until the last years of his prime, but he definitely made use of them.

    - Phenomenal wrestler

    - Legit BJJ Brown Belt under Liborio at the time he was champ

    - One Shot KO power

*Although he was on the horse juice (yes, boldenone is a veterinary steroid used on horses) when he passed the torch to Aldo.

    Mike Brown

Beat Edwards, Hominick, Curran; won WEC Featherweight title and defended it 2x, beating a prime Urijah Faber twice.

Let's be real, there are only 2 FWs with great long-term careers.
    Faber and Aldo.

Faber's career is not great long term, it was great till he loses the belt and then it's just good

Being top 3 for nearly a decade is great.
    Saying otherwise is lunacy.

I guess I'll mention the obvious, since no one else is willing to do so: Conor McGregor deserves a spot on that list. You can't put Edgar (whose championship was at LW and who has lost twice to Aldo) on this list or Mendes (who has also lost twice to Aldo and was never champion) if you're going to exclude Conor McGregor, who holds a win over Mendes and Aldo and is the current FW champion.

Haters gonna hate and what not.

To the champions... He was still ranked top 3 during that time frame.

You might as well say Nog isn't a great by your line of thinking.

He is a great FW because he was champion and defended a bunch of times, but after losing he got kicked out of the division because he knew he wasn't going to be champion ever again.
