He got completely outclassed and knocked out. Styles make fights. Everyone Robert has fought at Middleweight has been a short wrestler with a overhand right. He hasn't fought anyone at 185 with higher level boxing than him. High level strikers have always been his weakness. IMO, KG is a better version of him.

Just like Conor's toughest fight was Mendez for the Interim, then the actual fight was easy work, we might be seeing that again.

I felt like there were a lot of similarities to Conor vs Mendes leading up to last night

Aldo and Whittaker both injured which forces an interim title fight

"Hype train" Israel vs underrated experienced deadly contender Kelvin

Israel hadn't been tested like Kelvin had and he rose to the title shot very quickly. Lots of people thought Kelvin would shut down the train but in a dog fight, Israel prevailed. Conor went through some serious adversity to get that win

I give Adesanya at least a coin flip chance here.

Don’t forget Robert has been in some wars, and had medical issues. I’m not entirely sure what to expect of him in his next fight. Common sense would seem to indicate a decline rather than an ascension. But, probabilities don’t always become reality.

Romweo literally curb stomps every fighter lower than 185, there are weight classes for a reason.

Wonderboy and Israel fight pretty differently. Most importantly, Wonderboy uses range and length a lot differently.

Wonderboy uses range the way we usually think about it, whereas Israel likes being closer and relies on small adjustments to slip punches. He’s pretty good at it too.

But Whittaker is better at everything than Gastelum is. Gastelum hurt Israel a number of times. And Whittaker doesn’t sit there in the pocket like Gastelum tends to when he isn’t doing an Ali shuffle (or whatever you call that shuffle he does).

I don’t think Whittaker will have much trouble with him. But ya, you could be right and I could be wrong. But consider than range thing I mentioned before taking this too far.

Whittaker is some kind of José Aldo of MW: Good striking with tremendous takedown defense. To be honest, Adesanya has a chance because of that, he is very dangerous in striking, BUT he is definitely not a Wonderboy, let's remember that.

Whittaker has not enough grappling to take Adesanya down - at least he didn't prove anything in UFC until now -, so the game will be in standup. Whittaker is very good, but good enough to stop Adesanya? We'll see.

It is very difficult to confirm the Adesanya's hype train will stop with Whittaker because of that, styles make fights like we always say. But good wrestlers - a normal one, not midgets - will fuck Adesanya up very easy, like Weidman for instance. Like I said more than one time, put Weidman TODAY and the hype train derails, one hundred percent.

That's right. Adesanya is a much better striker than Wonderboy and actually fought the best guys in kickboxing while Wonderboy was fighting cans in a bum league that no one knows about.

Burns won via an eyepoke. Johnson literally went down from getting poked in the eye.

Blows my fucking mind how stupid people can be regarding performances at different weight-classes.

Welterweight Whittaker who was 22 years old IS NOWHERE NEAR THE SAME WHITTAKER THAT YOU SEE TODAY. OMG you people are fucking clueless. Not to mention he was cutting insane amounts of weight that compromised his chin.

If Gastelum had Izzy in trouble several times Bobby is gonna be a massive problem for him.

Bobby is quicker, closes distance better, has a more diverse arsenal, and is much better at range than Kelvin.

Wonderboy is way better than Adesanya in standup and proved much more than him, fought better strikers in general - and not older ones, all of them in their prime just to remember - and made it easy. Adesanya is light-years behind tbh, didn't prove much until now. You are a blind fan like the others, no news here.
