The US still has a lot higher murder rate than the rest of the western world even if we only count murders committed by white people.

If you throw out latino and Hispanic whites then the white murder rate is around 1.6 to 1.8.

Higher than Europe, but that's about the same as Canada and we have exponentially more guns.

I have no respect for the majority of American politicians but the American people I’ve met and know have mostly been cool. I have a lot family in the states and they have built great lives for themselves. I salute each and every one of them

One thing I have tremendous amount of respect for and I feel Americans should be extremely proud of Is their contributions to workers rights. Americans were at the forefront of the fight in the late 19th century early 20th century. It’s a shame that some American workers don’t enjoy such rights but here in Europe most people enjoy the 8hour day, sick pay, maternity leave in part because Americans fought and died for it
