The OLD SCHOOL ways

    I came across this video on youtube......you will see a lot of good Judo throws. Some of these black belts you will recognize. This was how BJJ competition use to look like when I started training in BJJ in the early 90's.....man things have changed.

    I do Judo and BJJ but I find myself saying "Jee I wish I had started wrestling". :p

    Pretty sweet. I was surprised to see Spider, De La Riva, and Inverted guards being used. I expected more closed guard sweeps and passes. Some good throws and trips too.

    De La Riva guard has been around a long time... The inverted and spider guard has been around since I started BJJ.........just did not have names for them back then.

    My own personal hell.
    ...Man... what a great find! Amazing video, it's funny to see how things were back in the day, both when it comes to the fights and silly things like the mats, the sponsors, the complete lack of any colored gis... don't get me wrong, I didn't even hear about jiu jitsu until later on in my life, but stuff like listening to Transam
