Matthysse is at that age where a gimme fight might not be a gimme.

On paper, it looks like a gimme though. His opponent is undefeated but the best guy on his resume is Kaizer Mabuza from like 3 years ago. Very padded record.

Completely agree. I have loved watching Lucas fight (raw power is a gift that's fun in this sport), but this might be a pick 'em fight at this stage of his career. As you mention though, his opponent's record isn't top-shelf by any means. Still, "Matty" is on the downside of his career, so...

Lucas looked okay in his last fight but that was back in May. I think he will do alright unless the Kiram is actually really good and we just don't know it yet.

MATTHYSEE SMASH
After chocolatito's 2 losses I'm superstitous and paranoid about upset fights vs thai fighters.

Honestly a little let down by this forum's lack of enthusiasm for this fight.

Look at the poll results, nobody thinks Kiram wins. Therefore no excitement.

So even though people are sure he will win, they still don't want to watch a fighter fight?

too many gamblers watching boxers and not enough enthusiasts.

I box and do muay thai for fun. For me, even if a fight is a "sure thing" , it is still boxing and entertaining to me.

We'll all be watching but its not a fight thats going to generate a lot of buzz.

The problem with being a Matty fan is that we don't know at all if his heart is still in it or not. He retired and came back and retired again and came back. He says he doesn't like boxing anymore than he says he's back for real. We don't know which version of him will show up and no one wants to see a guy who's heart isn't in it just take punches for money. I always loved watching him fight guys whether they were bums or champs because he was an exciting fighter. Once Danny beat him and said point blank he will never ever get a rematch no matter what Matty just kind of gave up on the sport. Retiring between fights isn't a good look. Neither is going life and death with Molina and getting murdered by Postol. He's had one fight since 2015.

Well put @The Can Opener !

It's more of a fight against himself more than anything. Its going to be interesting. Here's to hoping Matthysee can return to form and find that passion.

Lots of bars showing this fight surprisingly. I'll be heading out to get sloshed ( in victory and especially in defeat. )

I'll miss Lucas when he's done. It's always fun to watch a guy who can spark out his opponent at any moment. I hope he wins and can cash out or whatever. He was always an entertaining fighter from a fan's perspective. And at the lighter weights, you don't often see one-punch fight-ending power like he brought.

Me too! If he can just get Danny in the ring again and retire win or lose I'd be happy.

Seano is right though, anyone posting here will watch the fight it just isn’t one that there seems a lot to talk about.

It’s like the epl Monday night game between two crappy teams or a first round grand slam tennis match for a top seed, or the ufc pretending chris leben had a chance against Anderson.

So what are the sanctioning fees for this thread?
You give me all of your bank details and I wire all of your money to my Nigerian business partner who will guarantee a 10,000% return on your investment.

Why is this fight televised?

2 guys who will never even be a gatekeeper

Why not show Romero Duno whos a prospect that KO'd Chimpa Gonzalez?

Yeah, but let's not forget the Choco vs Rungvasai fights. Thai fighters throw Chingasos too.

<seedat> . The fights on yet ?? I'm waiting for the main event for the Fight Night to start.
