Found this technique online a few days ago, it's basically a choke from north south where you use your knee to close one artery and arm to close the other.

Outside of IBFJJ tournaments, where it seems that most unorthodox submission are illegal at all but the brown and black belt level, is this a legal submission? In particular at the intermediate level.

That looks more like a crank or a windpipe crush than a choke. I've never tried it though so what do I know.

No idea if this is legal. Don't see why it wouldn't be, no crank and also not a knee on the head...

However, I think it might be too easy to escape, because the attacker's base is so high, making him vulnerable to be rolled over.

Haven't tried the technique yet, so I may be wrong, but this was my first thought...

I thought this was going to be something else that no way in hell should be legal

I don't really see why it wouldn't be legal at an intermediate level, as long as you aren't cranking the neck

but on the the other hand looks like it would be easy to escape. Nothing is keeping you form shrimping out and rolling him over

If a gogoplata is legal I don't see why that isn't.

as long as the knee is on the neck and not the face and there is no cranking it should be legal.
