Blatant shilling, I know. But it's important.

"The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC and formerly NSAC), and other state athletic commissions governing MMA Performance Enhancing Drug rulings (as well as rulings on fighter conduct and other potential violations) do not have a proper check on their decisions. In other words, if they get something wrong, instead of an independent 3rd party evaluating their rulings, the athletic commissions get to review their own work....

... There was little order, no one seemed to know when the proceeding even begun, parties talked over each other, commissioners conducted their own cross examination, and no one was even sure what Silva had actually said.

Pause and consider that again: Anderson Silva ultimately lost in excess of 1/3 of a million dollars and no one present was entirely sure what he had even said in his own defense...."

It literally doesn't matter what Silva had to say. It was just a formality. No matter how the drugs got in his system he is ultimately responsible for what he put in his body. That's the way it has always been. He was going to get suspended and fined no matter what.

Acting like an idiot and coming up with the dumbest story in the histoty of failed drug tests doesn't help

I think everyone was clear on the particulars... Blue vial of clear, viagra-like drug. Got it from a training partner. Who bought it on the streets in Thailand.

    Sounded solid.

Pretty much this. Unless it's a case of a doctor screwing up or something I don't think they've ever let someone off the hook (but I could be wrong).

ADMITTING that there was something in your blood from something you willingly took is a surefire way to NOT get let off the hook.

Silva changed his story 3 times - and he took steroids.

It's really weird, he started taking steroid laced boner pills literally the same week he started his camp. And the first time he was ever tested out of competition - he failed.

    Weird.

As usual, people are missing the point. This is about how they conduct their business, not whether or not Silva is guilty.
