The Myth of the "change" in GSP's style

GSP is the best welterweight of all time. No arguement otherwise. However to say his style hasnt changed over the years is not only incorrect its borderline delusional imo. The GSP who fought Matt Hughes the 2nd and third times would destroy the GSP who fought Shields.

and what do you base this on? There's nothing to suggest GSP today wouldn't destroy Hughes again. He's simply fighting better fighters

His fight with Penn was pure strategy though. He wasn't going for the finish in pure Rush form. He wanted to ground n pound and score points.

Definitely agree on both though. Money will change things for sure, but you can see a different look in his eyes and a lack of hunger now. He's just content with a win.

At the end of the 4th round he was doing his best to finish Penn. He was pissed when the bell went off

TS is absolutely right. Those who talk about the post-Serra GSP absolutely don't know anything.

the 5 fights following his lost to Serra:

1- UFC 74 vs Koscheck = Win by decision
2- UFC 79 vs Hugues = Win by submission
3- UFC 83 vs Serra = Win by TKO
4- UFC 87 vs Fitch = Win by decision
5- UFC 94 vs Penn = Win by TKO

3 finish on the next 5 fight following that meaningless lost to Serra...

I don't think he just wanted to "score points"

GSP was legit pissed and wanted to finish him and hurt him - humiliate him, not let him get a single shot of offense in. And that is what he did.
He didn't seem to mind scoring points to win fights after BJ/GSP 2 tho.
