Which fighters out there do you know of, who manage to be very successful but, have such a predictable game plan that they refuse to change? It ultimately led/contributing to their downfall.
These names come to mind:
Rousey (The armbar)
Chuck (The overhand right)
Mirko (The Left high kick)
They all knew how they wanted to finish the fight and the problem was, so did their opponents.
I also believe that the reason Bones was/is so good is, because of his unpredictability...Even after seeing Jones fight for 22 fights, no one has come up with an effective game plan on how to beat him.
The only move of his that some fighters have figured out how to defend against and, time correctly, is his spinning elbow. I think D.C. managed to avoid getting blasted with it and continnuously dodged it..Another one who seems to be mimicking Jone's winning formula is, McGregor. Although, when he fought Diaz, he should have abandoned his new toy (wheel kick). Diaz had it timed correctly from the start.
