Anderson Silva stepping up on less than a weeks notice, less than 2 months after gall bladder surgery, to fight the Light Heavyweight champ DC who then went on to become the Heavyweight champion.

Yes he lost and it was a boring fight so that's probably why it gets forgotten about. But he even hurt him pretty bad. Makes you think what a prime, full camp Silva may have been able to do ‍

KZ dislocating his shoulder vs Aldo then tried to push it back in right away.

And people wonder why he is loved in this forum. He's a warrior long before the 'diva' era.

i remember Bisping offered to take that fight too and that was a month after winning the belt

Cool by Anderson to take that fight so shortly after surgery. Makes one wonder why he needed ped's in order to heal his broken leg, when he obviosly hadn't been using before...

I remember watching and thinking wow, if if it wasn't for Fatman sitting on him doing nothing, Anderson would have knocked him out on the feet.

I like your pick TS. Andy also parachuting in against Bonnar short notice was awesome too.

Pedro Rizzo's walk-off knockout of Josh Barnett. Rocks him with a punch to the temple as Barnett is chasing him, steps to the side of a clearly rocked Josh, then picks his spot from there and lands a huge right hand, as Barnett crumples to the canvas, with the back of his head against the cage. As Barnett falls, Pedro is already walking away, and the ref needlessly grabs a hold of him. This happens in mere seconds, so in order to capture all the badassery, the replay in slow motion is of tremendous help.

My ma had gallbladder surgery... Took her 6 months to recover.

Her slaps would make a Diaz run in terror though...

Its not overlooked, its just not much to say about the actual fight. DC just took it easy on him,and even hooked the leg for the pin 1,2,3, to respect the legend.

that step off to the side is a nasty ko, reminds me of how chuck ko'd randy.

Agreed. Even though I'm not the biggest Spider fan, taking a fight up a weightclass against a guy like DC on two days notice is bad-ass, any way you split. It's a shame Silva doesn't get more credit for it.

that was such a weird freak accident, he threw that punch and aldos punch went over it and put just the right angle on his shoulder to dislocate it. It actually looks like he connected with KZ's shoulder with the punch lol

People were mad at aldo for beating the shit out of KZ after that.

Its as if Aldo wasnt there to win a fight somehow

That was cool, but DC was going at like 15% for most of the fight. Kind of like a Dad playing with his kid.
