It's over for the progressives, folks - they've gone past the point of no return. They've been brutally exposed and they have nothing left to cover up their shame. Their last effort before the fall is to embrace their fake news agenda.

First CNN tries to justify their actions, now Buzzfeed is admitting they are fake news and embracing it !

I am in utter shock that this man was on MSNBC (which is owned by NBC which gives $400 million to keep Buzzfeed going) and had the guts to admit this on national television.

Here is the senior editor of Buzzfeed admitting that in his eyes it is permissible for major news organizations to publish rumor and innuendo.

When will left stop losing?

They are LGBTQ advocates but also think Islam falls under the category of "freedom of religion"

so absolutely fucking never

They have completely lost their minds at this point. They're back is against the wall and Trump has destroyed them beyond repair. They are now admitting they are in favor of publishing fake news based on rumor and innuendo.

Trump's election was the most beautiful thing to happen in and to America in the last 50 years.

Was reading something about how media outlets can spread rumors and technically not be called on it directly.

The common workaround is to publish 'the reaction' to rumors. So "People outraged over X allegations!". So the story is about people reacting to something, which then provides the context to publish all the rumors and anything else they want. I'm sure there are tons of little technicalities that are used like that.

Unfortunate for you the Left is not done, nor is the media. Buzzfeed made a choice to publish a report of very questionable claims. However, they did so stating that it could not be verified. Is this fake news, no. The reason is that report does exist. Now we can question if they should have posted the report, as it can't be verified, but this does not make it fake news, nor will it destroy them.

So journalistic integrity is a luxury now? Good to know. No wonder so many of us want the industry to burn to the ground, and be replaced with something worth a damn.

At this point it is Trump vs media. While not exactly good vs evil it is the closest thing we've got.

The Media is committing borderline treason for the sake of protecting one political party

Throw shit at walls, and see what sticks "reporting". Recant later, in a tiny blurb burried somewhere out of sight.

Seems to be the sop.

There is nothing to recant in this case. The full report has been circulation around for awhile. Buzzfeed decided to publish it stating that it could not be verified.

Buzzfeed is, I admit, not at the level of CNN. The problem is CNN has a seat in the press room and has direct access to question the president.

But when you're linking to a buzzfeed article that is a based of a report that they didn't bother to verify, they lose credibility.

It's as if Fox News pushed and linked to a World Net Daily source that claimed Obama converted to Islam in a secret ceremony in 2005, based on an operative from France.

Sucks for the mainstream media they are no longer gatekeepers of information. Time to adapt for sure.

Same shit. Some of us read everything as if it came with a disclaimer of "take this with a grain of salt as it could be pure bs", but most don't. This kind of "journalism" is aimed at the latter. It's a type of poisoning the well strategy.

Don't bother to verify? CNN reporting stated that the report could not be verified. They did not present it as fact. Really the only difference is that they linked to the Buzzfeed article, which linked to the report, which others did not.
