Very similar.
This is a widespread thing; they're basically equating white skin and anglo culture with predatory capitalism and Western Imperialism, and calling it white supremacy (though, in my country, the race socialists have latched onto "white monopoly capital" as their go-to nebulous term), much like the Nazis blamed the Jews for communism, predatory capitalism and Western Imperialism. Then they're positioning themselves as heroes by, much like the Nazis, promising to deliver race-based proletariat justice to the greedy, greedy plutocrats.
The modern version is quite elegant, in it's own way.
With a social, institutional and educational fabric that forever positions black people as victims ever in need of special treatment, one can more easily encourage a culture that perpetuates their position at the bottom of the socioeconomic hierarchy. Keeping them vulnerable makes it easier to capture their vote if you have a convenient scapegoat you can position yourself against (evil, evil white supremacy) and it makes it easier to trigger them and their "allies" into acting against your political opponents (the attempted coup here earlier this year was an example, as I think was the rioting and looting that accompanied the George Floyd protests).
By putting race at the forefront of the issue (where it does not belong) one can make conversation about constructive solutions arbitrarily sensitive enough that solutions can't be arrived at.
Basically: create and sustain a perpetual frustrated underclass, and then use that underclass as a weapon against the system (whites and capitalists) whom you blame for its existence.
