    This is it.

Can you support a man for President who could seriously consider using nuclear weapons?

I can understand some situations when nukes are appropriate... One being someone else using them first

Nukes are basically just there to show the world you've got a big dick. Hopefully they will never be necessary.

Come on Christians, get on the mass murder bus to Trump town!

It's the worst thing humanity has ever weaponized and anyone talking about them as anything but a measure of last resort would probably creep his own daughter out.

    Oh wait....

    Fuck no.
If Trump really openly questioned this, he's so ill informed it's surreal.

Well, yes, ANY President knows that's the right call. Pretty much the only right call.

A very brief, two strike history that ended a war that would certainly have killed millions more, because the Japanese weren't gonna give up the main islands.

I agree. Someone might say it is debatable.

Still doesn't change the fact that you used nuclear weapons against another country.

There's about to be a lot of Trump supporters ITT who don't understand the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction. Sigh.

It's shit like this that makes me want the right to vote withheld until an individual receives a diploma from a University. So many 2nd amendment "defenders" don't have any idea what the process is to amend the constitution, so many small government lovers have no idea how hypocritical it is to try to regulate bathrooms, every poor white guy in America thinks some poor colored person is getting unlimited free government cheese and it makes him jealous, they think voter fraud is an issue and that their representatives are helping to fight this issue all the while it's just used to suppress the vote, they want abortion banned but don't fully understand the decision in Roe v Wade, they have no idea the Republican party is essentially just the White Nationalist party at this point.

If everyone had to spend real time in a college level civics course, none of this shit would be an issue because everybody would know it's all bullshit. Every social issue the right runs on isn't something any of them have any ability or intention to change, they love scaring their lowest common denominator voters into believing liberals just want to destroy America, and they've done a helluva good job on that propaganda.

Fortunately from my observations those vast swaths of Trump support are mostly in rural areas, very low density population, more Trump signs than actual voters, so I'm not really worried that he'll win.

Usually the first ones to a new tech get to use it first. We scared the shit out of the world with it including ourselves, quite unfortunately many poor Japanese souls had to die but the end result hasn't been that bad - over 70 years of no further aggressive use of nuclear weapons, treaties all over the world restricting their use, etc. It'd be amazing if that same effect could have been achieved by simply dropping the bombs off the coast of Japan and letting their citizens see the horror we could inflict on them if we chose. But what's done is done, we've been paying "reparations" to the Japanese for almost a century in the form of propping up their defense and engaging in massive economic trade. What I'm saying is, the outcome of the USA using a nuke hasn't been so bad if you weren't a citizen of Hiroshima or Nagasaki, and the bad guy you know is usually better than the bad guy you don't, the Soviets being first to Nukes could have quickly meant 2 entire continents living under the Soviet banner.

Nukes will be used again in the future, its just a matter of which country posessing any gets to a point where they just say "fuck it, we have nothing to lose" first.

Every President must at least consider it. Otherwise, they wouldn't have them.
