I am pretty left, I guess, and I don't have any problem whatsoever with the above. If anything, this just proves there are dumb, scientifically illiterate people on both sides. Is this supposed to be a surprise, given what we know about the American educational system?

Attempting to convince people that Republicans are actually pro science, when it's basically obvious to anyone that they often de-fund scientific programs and experiments like the TevaTron, a move that allowed the Europeans to find the Higgs ahead of the United States?
