This is likely the biggest fight all year, since conor has retired, and there is literally no promotional effort by the ufc to market this event.

A few years back the LHW champ moving up to face the HW would be gigantic.

Maybe it was the mcgregorization of the sport with a billions belts going around simultaneously and fighters moving up and down all too often that normalized what would be a mega event in the past.

Maybe its just stipe and cormier not being that captivating to the casual fans.

Maybe WME is just shit at their job.

I know this event is soon and there is some talk, but you see one thread here and there, its not "the talk of the town". Not looking good in terms of hype.

in b4 ufc is dying

McGregorization lol

Got me thinking that yeah, Conor McGregor alone could probably do a better job promoting Stipe-DC than WME's whole army of goons. Ain't that a shame.

at this point I'm starting to believe WME buying the UFC was a money laundry scheme.

THe UFC has been doing a really poor job of marketing for quite some time. They fall in love with one or two fighters at a time and put all of their marketing might behind them and little to nothing for everyone else.

To me its a huge fight.
Not worried about lack of promotion right now. I believe it will pick up a lot once ESPN take over.

Well there not going to start any fake beef really

A full TV series isn't enough?
well, then they are really fucking stupid (option 3, wme is shit)

because investing money and time in that series for maketing is the worst investment of all time. Its a show nobody watches.

its part of it, but if they expect thats gonna be the end all and be all, i fear for the future of the ufc

UFC cant promote if you dont create fake drama..
How do you market Stipe? A down to earth blue collar hard working guy that still works part time at the fire department?
Its the UFC hype machines worst nightmare, a decent normal guy.

agreed, this fight is one of the biggest in a long time (based off pure credentials, no drama)

Well they shouldn't be fighters if they don't want to promote themselves.

Wtf do people think the UFC is? A charity?

seems like the perfect guy to market, it's sad UFC aren't promoting him more. same goes for Cormier

I know but based on how the UFC works and with all the TMZ drama and twitter /IG beefs...
It seems like thats the way to go.
Sadly.

I think they're making it known they got other priorities and just using the UFC as an extra payment. It makes since why guys on here were talking about the new owners only care about tv deals

yes yes they are and DC showed is pee pee.
I check in on Sherdog almost every day, and I haven't seen one mention of them doing TUF until now.

I thought they canceled that show because it's terrible.
