The Joker is the greatest fictional villain of all time for one reason - he is the only one to have reached out from fiction and killed a man.

There are more people he's probably killed as well. I bet if you looked into it, you'd find more bodies. When the Joker's involved, there's always more than one.

I'd go with Darth Vader myself, although I'm not really into super hero's or sci fi etc.

Not sure a death count is the be all as well, but I'm confident others more into this stuff will jump in with merit.

I'll take Darth Vader though for a thousand, Alex.

Weird post, but just for the sake of clarification, life imitating art is hardly a new phenomenon. I'm sure Alex and his droogs from A Clockwork Orange have a longer real-life rap sheet than the Joker, one which also includes murder.

Heath Ledgers The Joker is my all time favorite movie villain

Anton Chigurh and Darth Vader are up there as well

Yeah DC would have been in big trouble if not for Batman. He's the best hero they have and he happens to have the best villain as well. Everything else DC does if borderline retarded. Superman, wonder woman, green lantern, all boring as shit.

And yes, the Joker is the best. The way he so casually jokes while murdering folks. Great character.

Best comic villain for sure, but I also like Magneto a lot too.

All of fiction? That's a lot of fucking material to compete with.

Yeah all of fiction includes mythology like lucifer, Loki, and other fictional villainous gods and deities.

Lucifer

So good a lot of people think he is actually real.

True, but I still can't think of a single one that's a better villain than the joker. It's subjective, of course but that dude is just awesome.

Let me think about this.

Satan ... or Magnetto?

Sorry, not even close. If you want to consider Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker as one of the best movie villains ever I agree. But best fictional villain? Nowhere close.

Then who do you say is best? Darkseid?

He is also very sympathetic while still being evil. A very complex and good villain.

I remember reading Milton's Paradise Lost at school.

Really explained it quite well. The Fallen Angels were, as you say, quite sympathetic.

If memory serves, he waged a just war against God, and could have been welcomed back into heaven at any time, but he refused.

"Satan sheds 'Tears such as Angels weep'"

He's pretty hilarious in the injustice video game.

:icon_lol:

Joker is overdone to the point of being absured.
