The HW Division's Delicate State

Does anyone remember when HW had plenty of clearly worthy contenders? With JDS down, it would seem the future of HW rides on Werdum and Reem seeing as DC won't fight Cain when he gets here. Barnett, Arlovski(maybe), Kharnitonov(maybe, provided he gets in the UFC), Duffman if he keeps winning. Of course for the here and now we don't even have that much and I don't think any of those guys outside of DC(who might go to LHW), Reem and Werdum could beat JDS or Cain (Kharnitov can't handle good wrestlers and JDS is pretty much his faster counterpart, AA would get KO'd, Barnett would have a chance but I wouldn't favor him.)

The heavyweight division has plenty of contenders.
Actually I think the number of fighters on UFC roster is so big pretty quick expect major shifts in weight classes next year.
To stay marketable your going to see lots of fighters change classes to survive Cuts (Elimination).
JDS is one man and evidently has holes in his game. Im not worried at all. Joe Silva has this shit covered.
Hell Jds could make 205.....

Yeah, there's plenty of talent and guys that you can make good fights with, but the number of legit challengers for the belt is pretty small.

Really 3-5, tops. And one won't fight Cain and two are major drug test risks.

HW is not good right now....last night showed the best of the best looking pretty bad on both ends. One looked ok at best......the other looked aweful. I think Overeem is overated and will disapointe. Not sure about the rest

I agree. The HW division has a lot of great fighters at present.

It has never been this unified in history either. We don't have Pride or Strikeforce dividing the rosters up. Now it is all about who can win the best with all the best guys under one roof. It is fitting this is the time the Linear belt comes back to the UFC.

Yea, since the last thing they need is him getting stripped of the title for steriods again. The only difference this time is he wouldn't make it to a title shot.
