A couple of year ago, tons of people are picking Overeem to dominate the HW division. When he was in Strike force, people are going crazy and said that he is the HW to beat and most UFC fighters will not stand a chance against him

If you're one of that person, at least admit it. Haha.

Overeem never was THAT good. LHW, HW, whatever. He's a physical specimen with great striking. That's it. And please don't tell me he's past his prime when he went to the UFC> LOL!
 
Can honestly say I was never one of those people. Always saw a roided out, average LHW who won mainly because HW is mostly a joke. Turned out his chin couldn't hang in this division either. I'd be less of a dick about it, but you asked for honest.
 
Once he got caught from juicing, I lost interest in him. Not because I dislike PED users, but because he was dumb enough to get caught and was never going to be the same again.

Overeem is just a normal heavyweight nowadays, not a 260 lb juiced to the gills freak.
 
I wouldn't say he was never that good. He was that good, just with like 14:1 testosterone level LOL

Still a Reem fan, but wow... Losing to Rothwell is a bit hard to defend
 
Been saying for years that JDS would clean his clock. Now that Ben Rothwell did it, he aint even worth Junior's time.
 
I never thought he would dominate the heavyweight division or beat JDS or Cain, but I'd be bold face lying if I said I ever expected him to lose to Bigfoot, Browne or Rothwell

TS do you realize that Overeem has been fighting for 15 years?

Point is, for a time he really clearly was one of the best HW's around. Hell when he came to the UFC, he trounced the recently dethroned former champion.

I never thought he would rule the division. He has always had problems with his cardio and his chin. But he has always been capable of beating any fighter, and it was very reasonable to think he could take the belt.
 
His greatest MMA achievements were barely scraping by an inexplicably buttflopping Werdum and beating up a Lesnar with life-threatening medical problems. That was enough to fool most of us into thinking he was onto something.

I still think EconoReem wipes the floor with JDS and Cain on a good day, but he keeps losing fights he has no business losing.
So disappointing...
Toyed with Bigfoot effortlessly for 2 rounds, then got caught like a dummy.
Beat the crap out of Browne, then forgot that head kicks were a thing.
And now this.

It's like he's got the fight IQ of a 3yo. :eek:

I really am sorry, I haven't put my feet on the floor since I saw that GIF, it's horrible.
 
Sadly when he was with SF I thought he would come to the UFC and dominate, then him and JDS would have a stand up battle with one going down swinging.

Overeems whole UFC ride has been a shitty one, as a fan its hard to watch, tonight was easily the worst of it though.
