The Hip Hop Mafia Wars Vol 1
Hip Hop's first family and the Ruthless/Death Row War
It's the mid-1980's and Hip Hop is just beginning to take hold within the inner cities of urban America. Right now it's impact is limited to small crews, a few independent hustlaz, and the occasional street star. But that is all about to change in 1987 with the formation of the first family of Hip Hop: The Ruthless Empire.
The Ruthless Family
The Don: Eazy-E
Consigliere: Jerry Heller
Underboss: Dr. Dre
Capo's: Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella, D.O.C.
Soliders & Hitmen(women): Above the Law, JJ Fad, Michel'le, Arabian Prince
Eazy-E and his Ruthless Empire quickly took over the streets of LA and eventually the entire west coast. They were mean, vicious, wreckless...they were indeed ruthless. They were known walk up to police officers and yell "fuck you!" with total disregard. They were known for jockin the bitches and slappin the hoes. And they made money...lots of it. They were known to steal everything and rob everyone.
For a couple of years everything was great but it wasn't long before cracks started to show. The first big crack was the defection of caporegime Ice Cube. Cube was unhappy with his pay and went out east for work. Not long after Cube's departure Underboss Dr. Dre was also beginning to become unhappy. At one point Dre wanted to leave the Ruthless family and strike out on his own. He went to Don Eazy for his blessing. Knowing what a crippling blow it would be for his own organization if Dre were to leave Don Eazy was forced to refuse. With that, Dr. Dre had a decision to make.
Dre was unsure what to do so he called another meeting with Don Eazy. Again, he was rebuffed. The Don said to Dre "you will never leave this family and that's final". He then turned and flicked his jerry curl at the Underboss splattering activator juice all over his face. With that Dre was determined to leave. He was able to convince Capo D.O.C., female assassin and baby mama Michel'le, and satan himself Suge Knight to leave with him. With that the Death Row Family was born.
Death Row Family
The Don: Dr. Dre
Consigliere: Suge Knight
Underboss: Snoop Doggy Dogg
Capos: Daz the Dillinger, Nate Dogg, Kurupt The Kingpin, Warren G
Soliders & Hitmen(women): DPG's, Lady of Rage, Michel'le, D.O.C., RBX, Sam Sneed
The Ruthless family was depleted and trying to rebuild. They established a partnership with the Bone Family from Cleveland which brought them some much needed cashflow but they were still lacking muscle. Sensing a weakness Death Row went on an all out offensive on Eazy-E and Ruthless. The Ruthless family was no match for Death Row. The Bone Family turned out to be some bitch ass *****s and weren't much help at all. It wasn't long before Dr. Don Dre got to Eazy E. And once he did he made sure Ruthless would be out of his way forever. RIP Don Eazy E.
While all of this is going on the west coast there is an equally powerful family emerging on the East Coast: The Bad Boy Family.
Stay tuned for part 2: The Emergence of Don Pac and Don Biggie and the infamous East Coast/West Coast War.
