The Greta Thunberg phenomenon and why are the media doing this?

There should be the a sticky at this point these threads always play out the same

Sane people with common sense and empathy: Why would parents who know their child is on the spectrum willingly put her under a light that results in nothing but stress and anxiety...the worst thing for anyone on the spectrum. It’s not healthy to wake up everyday worrying about impending Armageddon...even for a healthy developed mind. She should be outside enjoying life. Letting your daughter be used as a puppet is a form of child abuse

I have not followed the Greta Thunberg fad because I am generally not interested in fads but I just came in to say fuck the media for its contribution to further polarise the climate change debate.

I still don't understand how a grown person can have any interest in some whining teen's view on world issues, but the fact that they have instrumentalised that little girl into some hyperventilating SJW is absolutely disgusting.

In this day and age it feels like the media is more about simplifying everything into a "left vs right" narrative and not about informing citizens.

Question: Why are the the media doing this, you ask?

Answer: Why did the media allocate all it's resources to covering Ferguson and Trayvon while falsely labeling them as white on black hate crimes, even tho they were not?

It is because it is controversial, it pisses people off but gets them to tune in, forces us in to a Hegelian Dialectic, to support sides that we do not fully support and generates clicks as a bonus. This Hegelian Dialectic forces people to take black or white sides in a technicolor world, and one is either pro or anti Greta; if you are pro Greta, you believe Al Gore invented the internet & support parents pimping out a mentally disabled child for their own agenda, and if you are anti Greta, you dont believe in science and are bullying a child.

This is all propaganda and part of the larger agenda of discombobulating, dividing and conquering the people. There is a darn good reason Obama passed the Smith Mundt Modernity Act of 2012, and made it legal to propagandize the USA's citizenry, both in school and at home without fear of repercussion, just as there is a reason Trump is passing these laws conflating Israel with a religion and making it a hate crime to criticize their policy - Saudi Arabia will probably be up next in the protected class and the media diverts attention and shouts 'mUh RuSsIa".
 
 
You're getting at a great point. Gretta is a useful tool, easy to evoke passion both positive and negative. Easily written off and useful to criticise those who easily write her off. This was never about Gretta (or climate) as much as it was about division and obfuscation, (control)...
