The great hang dry or tumble dry your gi debate

Is there a sticky thread that discusses cleaning gear? I'm curious how everyone takes care of all their stuff.

I find it funny that a guy living in Hawaii has no sunny place to hang his gi.

I understand and believe him, I just find it sorta funny.

1-1.5 days to hang dry a gi is pretty normal. ESPECIALLY if it's anything over a single weave.

If you're worried about your gi not hang-drying quickly enough indoors, stick a fan in front of it. That'll make it dry a lot faster.

And if you absolutely can't hang it, and you absolutely must use the dryer, just put it on the setting that doesn't use heat at all. There's usually a cold air ("blow") setting on most dryers. That's probably your safest bet.

if your gi does not shrink anymore, dryer is ok at a lower setting. you can also hang dry and have a dehumidifier running...works for me. cheers
