Economy The Great Foxconn

We're in this positiong because of Democrats.

It's entirely dishonest and nakedly partisan to suggest that corporate republicans were in the corner of American workers and corporate dems were not. Both sides had the same middle finger extended.

The only difference is that corporate dems usually attempt to throw a few more crumbs into the social safety net to slightly lessen the deprivations of displaced, blue collar workers. While corporate republicans want to cut those programs.

May not, is not will not, and the entire article still states it will happen...the kool-aid table is right over there --->

Too bad you are too stupid and bias to not realize how you are being manipulated by the media that controls your tiny brain.
Except you're blatantly ignoring the key economoc lies that make this a horrible deal for the local and state economy

No, it's not. Democrats don't give a shit about working people, and they're SUPPOSED TO, that's why it's so much worse. The betrayal of working people by Demorcrats who are just as concerned with Corporate interests as Republicans are is exactly how we got in this situation to begin with.

I only read the post to which I was replying.

The idea that the republican PR since Reagan has not been heavily pro-working class is ridiculous. I have always realized it was an obvious front but there are tens of millions of gullible blue collar republicans who will start throwing hands if you dare challenge them on it.

You seem very politically out of touch. Democrats haven't been strongly embraced by working people, or been seen as the party of workers, since the 1970's. The right's brilliant trickle-down and jerb creator propaganda effectively ended that relationship.

It literally took an independent socialist in 2016 to get working Americans paying some attention to the democratic party again. And even that was short lived. As most of them jumped back into the arms of the GOP in the general.

1) Tout Chinese investment in U.S.
2) Start expensive trade war with China.
3) Wonder why Chinese investment won't happen.

??????

6) Profit?

The reason the system has worked for the most part was because those "gullible blue collar workers" realized it was a front too. They still do. They realize most of what Democrats have to say is also a front. Regan didn't get elected because of some duping of working people, he got elected because Carter as a largely ineffective President who, as a sitting US President couldn't even rally wholesale support from within his own party and almost didn't win the nomination in the first place. You're doing some revising of history here.

This is still strongly revisionist history. Even after Regan Unions in the US were still very large and very powerful, and they in large part got Bill Clinton elected President. That's twenty years after Democrats supposedly stopped embracing them altogether. I mean, both Hillary and Obama campaigned hard on getting Union votes, and unions donated roughly 37 million dollars to various super PACs upporting Clinton in the last election cycle.

This just isn't true. Many working people have turned thier backs on the Democrats because Democrats turned their backs on them. But to say that Democrats aren't still expecting thier votes and thier money isn't true.

So do you acknowledge that the most powerful PR mouthpieces of the GOP - guys like Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly in the old days and guys like Rubin and Shapiro today - go on and on and on about how much more beneficial republican policies have allegedly been for American workers compared to democratic ones?

This idea that somehow every voter knows "deep inside" that the GOP isn't a defender of the working class is rubbish.

Will you please stop misrepresenting what I said? I said that American workers recognized it for what it was. I did not say "everyone". That's why Worker's Unions exist in the first place.

And yes, Republican policies are designed to help corporations, not to help workers. When this country was at it's best, Democrat policies counter balanced Republican policies. Now, on many things some Democrats are actually further right than some Republicans. That is the real reason the system is broken. Democrats sold out.

Again, stop attacking points I'm not making. I didn't bring those things up, you did. Attacking points nobody is making is the most dishonest form of debate possible. This deal was designed to bring working class jobs back to the US, something the Democrats, the party of the working man, could care less about for more than two decades. We're in this positiong because of Democrats.
Again, you claim Republicans are for working class I present evidence against that and you ignore it .

For their faults dems have tried. Example Obamas program to educate/train coal miners . What did a lot of coal miners take? Advanced coal mining training .But somehow dems are still seen as anti working class which makes zero sense .

Oh look, LEFTIST TDS moron takes "May" as "will not"...and even though the article states they are still going to use the factory and hire the 13,000 people they were originally going to hire, uses it as if they are saying its not going to happen just because those people may not be making TVs...

I mean, how blind are you people?!?

"Earlier this month, Foxconn, a major supplier to Apple, reiterated its intention to create 13,000 jobs in Wisconsin, but said it had slowed its pace of hiring. The company initially said it expected to employ about 5,200 people by the end of 2020; a company source said that figure now looks likely to be closer to 1,000 workers.

It is unclear when the full 13,000 workers will be hired."

Still going to happen. As usual, the left feels the need to reject reality to justify an irrational, unjustified hate of Trump. You'd think they would learn, but nope, cultists never do...I just wish they would hurry up and actually drink that kool-aid so the sane people no longer have to listen to them anymore. Sure, there would be a lot of bodies that would need to be buried but hey, that would also ease global warming so they would be finally be doing what they like to say they are doing!

Haha

Must defend daddy. Daddy lies all the time (including with this story) and TDS sufferer defends because he is daddy and you need a leader because you have no direction.

The plan changed substantially . It went from blue collar manufacturing jobs (lcd screens) to 3/4 white collar R&D with less jobs than originally estimated . These aren't small adjustments.

So it changed for the better...instead of jobs paying wages that may place someone in the lower middle class range are instead going to be high paying upper middle/lower upper class wage jobs.

Oh the horror. Poor us. Damn Trump and his lies!

Orange man bad, TDS does wonders on the weak mind.

Yeah it was tax breaks but I live right by it .The massive construction has started . That's going to be a nice giant empty building .

So yes they are out some money

I'm sure Amazon will move right in.

This is where you show your lack of knowledge . Higher quality jobs are nice . However, those jobs aren't compatible with most locals . Most locals in that area do not have the education nor expertise to do the new jobs that will exist . This will cause foxconn to pull from visas, Milwaukee, or Chicago . Which means the purpose of revitalizing the local economy with good paying manufacturing jobs which were promised goes right down the toliet . Another great lie .
?

They voted in a Democrat as Governor...
Yep it only took 8 years. And that was barely. Meanwhile, the state legislature is still GOP dominated as is the HOR.
I'm sure Amazon will move right in.

Amazon already has a massive facility ~8 miles from Foxconn location in the neighboring county

And they are always looking to upgrade and spread.

They have 2 facilities near Miller Park and one in Sussex as well.

Holy fuck...so your grand intelligent idea is to only bring jobs into an area so an area never, ever grows. You must be some kind of socialist...and no, you dimwit...it will cause people from other areas to MOVE THERE because NO ONE is going to take on a job that has you working 10+ hours a day if they have to drive 2+ hours to get there and another 2 to get back...

By bringing in MORE people, who make far MORE money the entire area's economy will see an up-swing, by having to support the new people and new revenue that will cause even more jobs to be created to supply that new demand and take advantage of that new revenue.

You are talking about a difference of millions more being in the hands of people living in and around that area and when people have more money, they spend more money, and when they spend more money, businesses in that area HAVE MORE MONEY, and when businesses have more MONEY as well as MORE CUSTOMERS they hire MORE PEOPLE creating MORE JOBS...you dumb cunt.

Socialists, learn the fucking type of economy you are living in so you can get a grasp of the BASICS. This change is nothing but GOOD news.
