This is pretty damn funny. I love how when the guy bites the bait in competition, the baiter actually takes a second to look over at his coach like "WTF?! It worked?!" :icon_chee

if the guy that got the single leg was leaning forward like he should have been, and he had a good grip on the leg, he shouldn't have even fallen.

I wish he was facing a good wrestler and got destroyed giving him the single.

It would only work on someone that sucks badly. Anyone that is remotely decent at wrestling and takedowns would either take the guy down before he had a chance, or just not fall back when he did it.

If that actually worked against someone that knew what they were doing people would do something similar in wrestling. Or mma. But they don't. Because anyone that knows anything wouldn't get caught in it.

I don't think it was a matter of the guy sucking (although he may suck) but he was just confused. Like WTF is the guy just gonna give me his leg? He sort of hesitatingly grabbed at it because he wasn't sure what to think of it.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The funk is a similar technique IMO. YouTube - Granby School of Wrestling Technique Series #32 I've done the funk from standing quite a few times. I just started MMA/BJJ in December so my subs aren't great. I may try to work that in somewhere.

Now having said that.....given the option I prefer a good old sprawl or whizzer anytime. It's nice to have another option when a guy gets past that.

This guy (CR wrestler) gets schooled but he had a couple nice ones from standing. YouTube - Lesson in Takedowns

    here is a diff one

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/g4Mqz6NpV0M&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/g4Mqz6NpV0M&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

hard to see, but instead of baiting the way he did in the first, he uses the roll as a counter to the single leg. his opponent did look a lot smaller tho.
