Just wanted to thank everyone for the support as my tome The Fighter Within released last Tuesday and hit amazon.com's best seller list only behind Ronda's book. For those that have not had a chance to purchase and check it out, would appreciate the added support, here is the amazon link
    http://amzn.to/20M8Rak

It includes a foreword by Bas Rutten, and in depth chapters with Fedor Emelianenko, Rashad Evans, Rich Franklin, Sean Sherk, Rory Macdonald and many others.

'only real fans can truly appreciate this'
'you're not a real fan if you dont buy this and have it in your vernacular'
'help fighter pay by buying this, for every one bought, the author will hand out back room bonuses to fighters (undisclosed amount, but trust me its big)'
to a negative fan 'dont buy it and shut the fck up, i actually dont want you to buy it'

just thinking about how dana white might sell this to the mma masses - hes pretty good at it

Yes I am the author, this book has been an eight year journey spanning the globe to compile from some of the brightest minds in the game. Thanks all for the support, AP_Resurrection, I like your approach :)

Thanks for coming in person to the scariest place in the MMA world, Chris. I have a question:

While meeting, talking to and interviewing fighters for your tome, who had the most tangible aura? To clarify, I mean, when I was at the UFC expo in July '13 I met two dozen or so fighters, and the day before UFC 162, was given a backstage tour and was lucky enough to have some candid conversations with a few more. Most of them seemed like regular guys. A few though, stood out, there was an aura, something palpable, tangible, almost electric. Did anyone give you that feeling, and who were they?

Thank you LongSlenderBody, means a lot. Of course there where a few that definitely stood out but none like the stoic Russian machine, Fedor Emelianenko. Some background first, I am taller than him and at the time I first met him, a bit heavier, yet his piercing stare was enough to conjure a deep swirl of emotions within the darkest corner of my soul that I literally slouched in the chair next to him. It is hard to pinpoint whether it was the fan within me and the fact that I hold him in such a high regard but I think he has a strong aura around him that is definite. He is very calculated and astute which I already knew but when his eyes pierce through you, honestly it was a bit scary. I had the opportunity to meet celebrities and many fighters but never felt such a strong force from anyone. By the third interview though he loosened up a lot, actually cracked a lot of jokes and was much more mellow without the pressure of a room of people around him when I had him one on one, but when he focused on me, I still felt it, hard to tangibly explain on paper but he definitely stands out. He is also introverted around people he does not know, but once he gets comfortable with you, it is great, you automatically tell that he is a special human being, I believe he would excel in absolutely anything he put his mind to, just a very complex and intellectual man.

I opened a new tab and purchased the book when I was about halfway through the 3rd sentence of your reply, haha. I must admit, I let go with a little fist pump when you said that Fedor was THAT guy. Damn, I wish I had that sort of control over my vocabulary man, I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into the tome! Congrats on a great achievement and thank you for the epic preview of your Fedor story.
