The fact that so many people are happy to see a guy lose his job is sickening

Especially considering the fact that Palhares was dealt an absolute shit hand at life to begin with.

No one on this forum has come close to experiencing the poverty this man went though as a child, He slept under bridges and ate filth out of trash cans, He also never had a chance to attend school to acquire a basic education. From the time he was a child all he ever did was brutal labour on a farm all day, barely earning pennies. This man has gone through more heartache than anyone on this forum could ever know.

A fine or short term suspension may have been a suitable punishment, but releasing him? This is nothing more than Dana's short sighted emotions getting the better of him, They could have gave him a hint that this would be his final warning and and send him to a sports phsyciatrist, but out right releasing him is too much, and the fact that you all laugh at Palhares while you sip your fancy latte's behind a computer screen is sickening. That is all.

Agreed.

The people saying he deserved to get cut are acting in an unsportsmanlike manner.

It sickens me.

Completely agree. I never want anyone to get cut from the UFC, it's always a sad thing to hear IMO except when it's for stupid crap, like when Daley punched Kos in the head after the fight, that was uncalled for.

He should appreciate what he's earned then and not fuck it up by being unsportsmenlike

You don't know what we do for a living, so don't just talk about yourself (fat behind a computer drinking latte). Have you ever Rolled with someone who doesn't let go of a submission? It's called honor, and this man has none. If he's trying to fight to the death go to Thailand and sign up to fight in a pit where a bunch of organized crime bets thousands on it. When a fighter KOs him they will stomp on his head until it's mush, which parallels what he tries to do to people's legs.

This is a sport with people playing by the rules, when you intentionally break the rules to ruin peoples' careers, you lose yours, Loser.

compared to every other event when someone loses, they say he/she isnt any good at their chosen profession and should be fired? I dont think anyone is saying Palhares isnt good, he's just a bit of a psycho lol

How can these people be so insensitive... I feel you man.

This thread is one of the stupidest things ive ever seen on this website..

The guy has a history of this in and out of the UFC....

By your logic because he cameup hard and knows what its like to struggle youd think he wouldn't try to injure a fellow fighter to the point tht they cant out food on the table...

this thread is garbage

He'll be fine. He can live a reasonable middleclass lifestyle for the rest of his days teaching and training.
I don't think a sports psychiatrist will do any good, he's permanently scarred from his childhood experiences and its safer for him and others to do something else.

Tough shit. Stop holding and cranking submissions after the ref intervenes.

He deserves it. Do something stupid and you get fired. Plain and simple.

thanks for this thread, TS.

at all the other readers: if you really like that Palhares is now again unemployed, you're a disgusting freak. You may not like it, but you know it is true.

Ha LOL.

He let go as soon as the ref intervened.

Fail harder brah.

I don't like that he's unemployed, but it was the right decision. He made his own bed.

Um yeah. Not like the dude has ever done shit like this before.... and been popped for elevated testosterone. Plenty of people lack a solid education (or any at all) and don't blatantly screw up. He's lucky to have an incredible skill set that allows him to make damn good money. Yet he screws it up.

This guy is a proven cheater and has shown multiple times he is unable to follow the rules.

I believed that having his fight bonus and a large sum of his purse fined would have been an appropriate punish for a repeated offender. Didn't really think Dana would cut him.

how do you know it was intentional and he is not just very caught up in the moment, He does have mental issues. He is a liability but that does not mean its intentional, I don't think he meant to lose his job. He continues to do it bc he screws up mentally in almost every fight

What's the over under he'll get signed by Bellator or WSOF?

It sucks he lost his job, but I imagine he'll get signed fairly quickly. Silver lining, I guess.

So by this rationale, my living under a bridge and being dirt poor would give me the right to continually break rules???

This is the dumbest fucking arguement I've ever heard. How many times do you have to warn a guy? He was already suspended 90 days for this in the past. He's held more than 1 sub too long. He's seriously trying to injure people.

Banning him is the right move. That bullshit is uncalled for in any sport and shouldn't be tolerated, regardless how poor the person grew up.
