Hey guys first time posting in here have a quick question for any would be guru's out there. What are the absolute essential supplements for combat athletes? I eat pretty clean and know that my multi etc are simply for insurance purposes but it can be a bit confusing.

My current supplementation:
Fish Oil (3x daily)
Ultra Mega Green w/o Iron (Recommended dosage)
Protein (casein in the morning in lieu of breakfast, whey after training/lifting)
Creatin-spelling challenged (taken with protein shake before lifting on those days and post training on mma days as it upsets my stomach during heavy cardio)
Men's daily MV w/o Iron (recommended dosage)

Do I need the regular MV on top of my green vitamin? There is some overlap there but def alot of stuff is unique to each as well. Plus I heard Vitamin E is unsafe if get too much via supplementation. Any truth to that?

Lastly, am I missing anything that is proven scientifically/nutrionally? (sorry guys don't do NO products, fat burners, general GNC hogwash stuff etc.)

Most of this depends on your diet. fish oil and multivitamin

P.S. The Redskins are gay

#1 Essential- Air. Without it you will perish within a few minutes.

#2 Essential- Water. If you don't have any, you got about 4 days.

#3 Essential- Some kind of food- You seem to have that one covered.

After the Big 3, there are no essentials, everything else is just varrying degrees of luxury.

^wow is that what passes for clever in your family?

p.s. No they're not!

I don't think you need the MV if you're already taking the Ultra Greens. In fact, most guys here who take Ultra Greens take 2 caps per day instead of 3. That could stretch your dollar even more.

James, I wouldn't add anything. The 2nd MV is redundant and I would probably eliminate that once you run out of it. NO, fat burners, & GNC general crap is just that - crap. Good choice there.

1 point: The creatine does not need to be taken pre, post, or any other specific time. Just regularly. It works through saturation.

ok guys sounds good. I will stop taking one of the MV's till the other runs out. And duh on the creatine lol Thanks for the reminder ronin b/c I forgot about the way it works!

And for the NO products or other I have seen no evidence either in print or in my experience that says they help you workout any more intensely or better than a simple caffeine pill or rockstar.

^give me a "why" please over other creatine products.

Whats the science behind it?
How does it work better?

They are being sarcastic and joking with you... you have a pretty good understanding and view of the basics ... only thing I would add is D supplementation depending on your amount of sun exposure.
