In all seriousness, how did everyone find the four week wait for MMA?

It passed surprisingly fast for me, and I didn't really miss it.

I think preparing myself for four weeks, I actually prepared myself mentally for a lifetime lol, then in the blink of an eye it was gone.

went by quicker than i thought it would.
Christmas and New year stuff, you know, all that.

happy we're about to dive into UFC 2023 though. Hope no more fight cancellations and some insane fights on this opening card, perhaps some what anemic card, but......I'll take it.

I suppose ending one year on a Fight Night and ushering in the new one on a Fight Night reduces the pressure... but it's a cop out!

One or both should be a blow out card with all kinds of mayhem IMO!

But whatever, like you say, we'll both be watching and there'll be good fights.

I think Strickland (as a fighter) is cool as hell. I don't care for his persona or hearing him speak, but he fights frequently and makes it fun. I'm not sure if he'll beat Imavov, but it's a good fight. Strickland has balls, and I like him (again, as a fighter).

Ige-Damon is a fun fight, too. Jackson has been on a monster roll lately, and his last win was emotional. I kinda like Ige though.

Puna-Kopylov is interesting because we're going to see if Roman can live up to his potential. He's let himself down, but he's actually not a bad fighter.

Umar-Roani is ace.

I kinda want Razak to win again.

Jimmy Flick returns.

I can buy into enough storylines here to make this card well worth watching.

I remember hearing that the UFC started "dying" WAYYYYYY back since idk, 2004? 5? 6? 7? 8?
Apparently you guys are to new, or too stupid to realize that a sport doesn't die or rely on 1 single person.
And yes, that means that not Dana,Connor, Ronda, Chuck, Royce, Chuck, Diaz bros, Fertitas, Yakuza, Punk or anyone else you may think is too important to lose. Grow up

I applaud your enthusiasm, but can you appreciate that to an old guy from the 90s era, these names seem like total BS from a 2020’s online cage fighter name generator?

Honestly, I feel the same way. Expected to miss it far more than I did. I guess a break is ok once in awhile.

I remember the days when fewer fighters meant the fighters themselves meant more, but I don't really care about that :)

It's not about name value for me, just action!
