the 3 worst immediate rematches in history have now all fallen apart before they happened. cain / werdum and weidman / rockhold due to injury, and mcgregor / diaz due to mcgregor gonna mcgregor.

i do believe the MMA gods are trying to tell them something. next up are lightning strikes during the walk-ins.

All these damn injuries

TJ/Barao 2 also fell through as an immediate rematch and that was as silly as any.

Then maybe this little curse of yours should fall upon those who actually make the matchup. What do you expect the fighters to do? "Oh, thanks for offering me a title shot, but I don't think I deserve it. I'd rather fight a top 10 instead". Please.

Fighters are offered rematches by someone above them and they naturally accept these rematches. Besides, as shitty as an immediate rematch might be, nobody deserves a fucked up neck injury.

Was Weidman vs Rockhold really that bad? was it any worse than Silva vs Weidman if you take away their previous resume's? I mean middleweight is pretty damn empty right now... especially when Sonnen didn't get an auto against Silva

I think the worst have been: The other 2 u mentioned and TJ vs Barao

we have quite a few fresh champs, so do not imagine as many Rematches this year

Hendricks/Lawler 3 and Ronda/Holly 2 also fell through.

Divine will of JBG is absolute.

that was what i meant in OP - that the curse was on joe silva and the big boys.

totally agree on silva / weidman being horrible as well. but at least anderson was a legend and had defended about 10 times already. i still thought it was a terrible idea though, can't stand automatic rematches in general - IMO should be used for draws and that's it.

No, it isn't. It's probably the most interesting division.

More interesting than LW, WW, etc?

You have Rockhold and Weidman, then Vitor is toasted from TRT, Romero can't pass a drug test and Souza lost to Romero and Rockhold..

Below the top 5

Crosseyed Bisping is 2 years from retirement max, Machida has already lost to weidman and is finished from drinking all the brazillian piss, Mousasi and Hall are inconsistent as hell, and Brunson is unproven so far...

Whittaker has some potential and thats about it..

This little curse of mine, I'm gonna let it shine...
