Seems like every time an MMA fighter reaches "Mayweather status" and gets comparisons by the media or pundits, they end up getting beat. It's happened with Barao, Ronda and now Conor. Although it's fun to watch, I don't think an overwhelmingly cocky/confident personalty can get too far in MMA. It's like the bigger the personality, the bigger the fall from grace and unlike boxing in MMA it's almost a 50/50 chance of losing on any given night. People have to understand that MMA is a completely different sport than boxing. The only thing that's the same is they both throw punches but with much different size gloves. If nothing else, Conor has reached the financial peak of being a UFC fighter as did Floyd in boxing so in that regard he's ahead of the game.
