I wouldn't be mad if they actually had a female crow instead. The Crow is one of my fave films and they're obviously going to mess this new one up bad.

The Crow was such an epic movie for the time period. Amazing emotional impact.
The soundtrack is a classic. It's just not worth remaking cult movies, especially as noone seems to know how to make them better.
People should make a screenplay and base it off the screenplay, not the first movie. Then, if it's good and original enough, maybe then make a movie. These hack jobs are just frustrating.

Relativity's THE CROW Reboot to Begin Production in January

HuzP6nG.jpg

Relativity’s The Crow reboot will begin production this January, multiple individuals have confirmed to TheWrap.

News broke last month that Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) was in talks to star in the reboot, which Colin Hardy is directing. Momoa recently posted a photo of himself with Hardy to Instagram with the hashtag “#sealthedeal.”

The Crow reboot will be a new adaptation of James O’Barr’s cult classic comic book that was originally adapted for the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee and directed by Alex Proyas.

Like the original, the story follows Eric Draven, a murder victim who returns from the dead, seeking vengeance on those who murdered him and his fiancée with the help of a mystical bird.

However, rather than a recreation of Proyas’ film, The Crow reboot is said to be a more faithful adaptation of the comic book source material.

Relativity is emerging from bankruptcy and The Crow reboot is a priority project for the studio as it looks to rebuild its reputation in Hollywood.

It won't even come close to the original.

The original is a friggin masterpiece.

Is this some master plan to ruin my childhood by having Jason Momoa star in remakes of every awesome action movie that needs no remake. Hollywood can va fangool.

Michael Massee, the actor who unfortunately will forever be known as the man who accidentally shot and killed Brandon Lee on the set of the 1994 film The Crow, has died. He was 61.

Massee's death was first announced by actor Anthony Delon and confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by a representative of his agent at Greene & Associates in Los Angeles. He and Delon recently worked together on the French TV series Interventions. No details of his death were immediately available.

In just his second movie appearance, Massee was playing a character known as Funboy when he fired a revolver that had been improperly prepared by crewmembers at Brandon Lee, the son of famed martial arts star Bruce Lee. The round was live and struck Lee in the stomach, and he died after several hours of surgery on March 31, 1993. He was 28.

Massee was just following the script during filming at a studio in Wilmington, N.C. Shaken by the incident, he took a sabbatical from acting that lasted more than a year. “I don’t think you ever get over something like that,” he said.

Massee later played Ira Gaines, an American mercenary and former Navy SEAL, on the first season of the Fox drama 24 and portrayed Charles Hoyt, the scalpel-wielding killer known as the Surgeon, on the TNT crime drama Rizzoli & Isles.

He also appeared as Gustav Fiers, aka The Gentleman, in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and its 2014 sequel.

His film résumé also included the David Fincher films Seven (1995) and The Game (1997) as well as One Fine Day (1996), Amistad (1997), Lost Highway (1997), The Florentine (1999), Corky Romano (2001),Catwoman (2004) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

RIP Massee. Solid actor. He was very good in 24.

Damn, Michael Massee. That guy was great. 61 is still too young in this day & age.

He was also great in Se7en, as the guy who ran the underground sex club & gets interrogated by the detectives.

"Was he carrying a package under his arm?"

"Half the people who come in here, got a package under their arm. Some of 'em, got suitcases fulla stuff."

RIP

THE CROW REBORN Leaves Relativity, Heads to Group Led by Davis Films

The Crow remake has flown the Relativity coop. Samuel Hadida’s Davis Films, Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow have acquired the rights to finance, produce and distribute The Crow Reborn, a reboot of the cult classic franchise.

Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, will produce Crow Reborn alongside Hadida. Pressman and Relativity developed the film, which will be a more faithful adaptation of the original graphic novel written by James O’Barr.

Jason Momoa was previously attached to star, and Corin Hardy was on board to direct. It is unclear if they will remain involved. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in 2017.

The film was nearing production in 2015 when it was shelved due to Relativity Media's bankruptcy filing. After the studio emerged from Chapter 11 in April, The Crow was said to be among its highest priorities. But Relativity's own reboot sputtered, and Kavanaugh put the company up for sale last month. The Crow had been pegged as one of Relativity's most valuable development properties.

THE CROW Reboot Lands at Sony; Jason Momoa Still Attached to Star

qXFLhMi.jpg

The Crow has a new nest. The long-in-the-works remake of the cult supernatural revenge action movie that starred Brandon Lee, titled The Crow Reborn, has landed at Sony Pictures, which has signed to distribute the feature project.

The project spent almost a decade at Relativity with various directors and actors coming and going. When the company went under, the project went into limbo.

Jason Momoa and Corin Hardy were last on board as star and director, and while they are not formally signed on to the Sony version, insiders say the plan does includes them coming on in the near term.

The original movie was directed by Alex Proyas and featured Lee as a man brought back from the dead to avenge his own death, as well as his girlfriend’s. The movie became a cult hit not just due to style and resonating story but partially due to Lee’s accidental death during production.

Sources say the reboot will be a more faithful adaptation of the indie comic created by James O’Barr that was first published in 1989.

Edward R. Pressman, who produced the 1994 original and spent years developing it while it was at Relativity, will produce alongside Hadida. Highland Film Group and Electric Shadow are also producing. Dan Farah (Ready Player One) will exec produce.

It's ridiculous how long movies sit in development sometimes. Just years and years go by as new production houses, new directors, and new stars come and go.

I'm like, Jesus Christ, if you're going to make the fucking movie then make it.

Wasn't The Crow the frst really violent comic book movie to hit the big screen?

Love the crow series... 1st one best, but looking forward to them doing something cool & original.

Meh please not that Jason Momoa.
