Decisively finished in one round by DC, then proceeded to sit out for a year salty as fuck demanding a rematch, although I'm not surprised it doesn't set a good precedent..

I used to be a Stipe fan too, now hope Cormier sparks him unconscious..

Same. He got rewarded for being a whiney little petulant child.

Good news is if DC sparks him again, he is in the same tier as Jones Silva and Fedor in terms of GOAT status

Fighting across 2 weight classes, being extremely undersized in one of them, and still has only lost to the GOAT. Also didn't "catch colitis" when legit competition came knocking.

So you’re mad at Stipe because the UFC decided to give him a rematch.

Ok...that’s interesting.

I agree.

Regardless, looking forward to the rematch.

If this is DC's last fight Id rather it be to Stipe. He waited because he can. It's also probably benefecial that he waited a while after he got knocked out. I didn't like all the complaining, but I don't mind that he took some time.

He should have been granted a rematch long before now. DC is the one that didn't want to face him again. He was looking for big money fights. This one will be different than the first fight. I'm predicting a KO by Stipe. JMO.

I'm more mad that Cormier sat out as long as he did waiting on a dumb "money fight" that never happened because WME had absolutely nothing in place to make it happen but still promoted it.

Brock going back to WWE cracked me up. bork1}

Not much choice after the UFC made that stupid Blaydes-Ngannou rematch and eliminated him as a contender.

Sitting out and bitching is a good strategy, see Woodley and the Diaz bros.

Served the UFC right, if shitty for the fans. They made it seem like the pointless Cormier-Brock fight was certain and they were just waiting for WrestleMania to be over to announce it, but then the ESPN PPV money wasn't enough for Brock and they played themselves. Then Dana had to pretend like the idea had never occurred to him.

The fight is most likely going more than a round, but I still think dc ko's him...I don't think stipe has the same chin he once has...he was ko'd dead, but a punch in the clinch..that wasn't all that powerful...I don't see stipe beating dc...

nah, nobody is ko'ing dc..haha...I think the fight will only be different, in that it will go a bit longer..but I still see dc ko'ing stipe...dc wanted a big money fight, cause he's at the end of his career now...so how can anyone blame him for wanting a big money fight...

Agreed. I like stipe's no shit talk, no nonsense attitude, but DC is too much for him everywhere.

I think its perfect. Most likely this will be DCs last fight, maybe one more.
So fight Stipes whiny ass and if Stipe wins you get the trilogy.
If DC wins he can either retire, go after Jones 3, or maybe Ngannou.

I agree Stipe shouldnt be rewarded for sitting out but at this point the fight makes sense regardless of the circumstances.

Win or lose, Stipe will never be the same after Ngannou. Even tho it's chalked up as a domination for Stipe, he gave everything he had in that fight.

What if Stipe avenges his loss against DC, who is one of the folks legit in the GOAT conversation? Add that to his record defenses streak, and that would be pretty impressive. I'm not campaigning for Stipe as a GOAT, but he'd have a solid case as best UFC HW.

It worked because the HW division is full of emptiness.
It's like theres 10 guys that will have their title shot each turns whatever happens.

If Stipe beats DC this time around, that would require a 3rd fight. If Stipe than beats him again, I would say he would have a strong case for being the best HW.

Most amount of title defences in the heavyweight division where the belt nearly changes every title fight..

He was worthy of a rematch.

DC also won after gauging stipes eye pretty badly. So it’s not as if dc won fair and square, he cheated pretty badly and blatantly to win the belt.

Who else realistically was there? Lewis got the shot against Cormier in the meantime and all the other challengers fought each other, paid off for Stipe in the end.

The match is shrouded in controversy

Decisively? Hardly

Also, even if it was decisive with no controversy, stipe is the goat. Deserved.

And the whole ‘for a year’ thing is the fault of Daniel and the ufc

You don’t have a leg to stand on here.
