The Cecil Hotel has a very dark and creepy past

I was reading through all the youtube comments. The story just gets creepier and creepier.

I'm wondering what the autopsy results will say. If there aren't any drugs in her system that will make the story far creepier in my opinion, and it's already creepy as hell.

Their rates are $29-$28/night, but you always have to pay $29 because the bill is never in your favor.

Yeah. I wonder if they'll release that info. Some X-Files shit is what this is.

Not the kind of shit i need to be watching before bed.

And WTFuq was about the arm flailing...it looked like she was trying to feel an invisible wall or some shit

The Cecil Peoples is also very dark and pretty creepy.

How the hell did she end up in the water tank?

Like many others, my interest and curiosity are piqued by the story of the disappearance and eventual discovery of Elisa Lam in a rooftop water tank. The video the police released seems to raise more questions than it answered, and many aspects of this story remain very strange.

For one thing, what is the reason for her erratic, fearful behavior in this video? Does she appear to be on drugs, confusedly pushing buttons, or is this behavior an effort to obscure her trail to a pursuer?

How did she get into a sealed water tank, on the locked and alarmed roof? In recovering the body, police had to cut open the tank. How did she gain entry to this tank initially?

Why is the date and time signature obscured in the released video? Surely there must be more video cameras throughout the hotel, where is the other footage, and why was this clip the one the police released? Is the footage timestamp obscured because this is merely a small portion of a bigger surveilance video that shows something more?

Police have done an autopsy and have not found any direct signs of foul play, but they are still referring to this as a suspicious death. We will have to wait for toxicology results, estimated to take 6-8 weeks.

RIP, Elisa.

Already a thread on this

http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f48/cecil-hotel-has-very-dark-creepy-past-2407975/

what I said was
Looks like she was trying to get the fuck away from someone/thing

You hit all the buttons so the person can't just look and see which floor you're going to, and run to that floor using the stairs

Seems like the elevator doesn't work too well. Watched a news story about it, and they said all the residents complained about awful tasting/black colored water, and they didn't tell them about the body in the water tank. Once people found out, the hotel tried making them sign waivers saying it wasn't their fault if they got sick

Shady practices... this hotel is named accordingly

That's a thread on the Cecil hotels past. This one aims to specifically adresse the mysterious disappearance of Elisa Lam.

Thanks for contributing your thoughts. In that same thread someone said the police issued a statement claiming that one of the buttons she pushed was the hold-door button, which seems to weaken the contention that she was trying to evade pursuers.

Still, I get a very weird feeling watching that elevator footage - and I've seen my share of grizzly, horrendous shit on the net. This video is amongst the spookiest I've seen, somehow.

I'll keep following the story and post developments in this thread.
