The cars with the lowest and highest depreciation

What's interesting here is that all of the vehicles with the lowest depreciation (aside from the Impreza) are body on frame trucks. Even the shitty Nissan Frontier has spectacular resale value simply by virtue of being a body on frame truck. And we all know the Wrangler is unstoppable in the used market.

The worst depreciating cars are cars that tend to be packed with tech features that become outdated instantly with questionable reliability. In contrast, cars like the 4Runner (even new) feel like they're from the 80's due to their spartan interiors and lack of tech. But that gives them a timeless appeal and rock solid dependability.

How often do you hear people complain about any of the cars in the top list? They inspire loyalty for a reason.

I can confirm Nissan Frontiers are POS. I have had 2 and they both had huge electrical problems. Nissan also thought it would be a good idea to cool the transmission through the radiator so when any transmission fluid leaks into your radiator, or vice versa, It ruins your radiator and transmission at the same time! Multiple class action lawsuits and they offered a warranty that ends EXACTLY when the problems start occuring. I was dumb enough to buy an xterra (same vehicle basically) and I had to make a custom transmission radiator and bypass the main one. Nissan wanted over 2000 to do this knowing it was there fault in the first place.

TLDR: Nissans suck.

Almost all of those vehicles are made to get dirty and do something other than just driving. I guess they still hold their utility even when they are dirty and busted up.

Everyone knows Nissans are absolute trash, yet they stay in business because they offer 0% loans to anyone off the street. This is why every Nissan on the road is blistered with damage and the owners dont give a shit. They just gleefully ram into anything without a care in the world. The worst offenders are Rogues. they did get that right I will say that. Everyone that drives my truck says it has too much torque. I did 120 in my 05 froniter and it felt like 85. The engine is by far the best thing about the car.

Well, if you buy a Jeep for Jeep stuff, they are absolutely great. Some of the most capable vehicles.

If you buy one for an everyday city car or status...yeah they aren't meant for that.

My old step-dad owned a Jeep/Eagle/Lincoln dealership in Michigan. I worked there for almost 6 years and have driven every jeep made and I never really got the hype. I really like the Grand Cherokee Limited because it was fully loaded and super smooth, and owned the snow but the price tag was pretty steep. The Wranglers were such turds even with the 4.0l 5speed manual. With all that said, people love Jeeps. We sold used wranglers with 100k miles for insane prices every week.

Jeeps with the inline6 should get a special number 1 spot. I sold my 03 wrangler for 2k less than I paid for it (used) after puting 75000km on and switching out my 12 x 35 trail diggers for standard 9 x 31 AT's

I must be out of the loop because I thought almost anyone with a family that owns a car has a sedan (vs a coupe). When I drop my kid off to daycare almost every car you see is a sedan. In my neighborhood most cars are sedans. Even I own 2 sedans.

CUV's took over. No new mom buys a sedan- she demands a CUV at minimum, or an SUV if possible.

I dont know TBH, It is a poor design though.I know in newer higher end vehicles there are two seperate coolers for the tranny and radiator and they do it the same way I did, put it in front of the other radiator. Only reason I noticed is cause I saw two radiators and asked the dealer what the other one was for and he confirmed my suspision. Its a real problem for nissan.

Yeah those are pretty sweet. This was damn near 15 years ago when I worked there, so they didn't have an SRT line or anything really special. I do remember in 1998 they put the 5.9L in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and that was pretty cool. I used to take a Jeep Wrangler out to the country and beat on it off-road, I actually almost once flipped it over doing doughnuts.
