What's interesting here is that all of the vehicles with the lowest depreciation (aside from the Impreza) are body on frame trucks. Even the shitty Nissan Frontier has spectacular resale value simply by virtue of being a body on frame truck. And we all know the Wrangler is unstoppable in the used market.
The worst depreciating cars are cars that tend to be packed with tech features that become outdated instantly with questionable reliability. In contrast, cars like the 4Runner (even new) feel like they're from the 80's due to their spartan interiors and lack of tech. But that gives them a timeless appeal and rock solid dependability.
How often do you hear people complain about any of the cars in the top list? They inspire loyalty for a reason.
