LOL at all the "Aldo got destroyed by Hominick in the 5th" comments.

Look, Aldo was dead tired in the 5th beacuse he was ill. After he landed a pretty good upper that hurt Hominick, the Canadian tired desperately a double leg, and Aldo pulled guard (bc he was tired) and controlled the fight from the bottom, being barely hit. He never attempted to get up or a reversal, bc he was comfortable being on the bottom getting barely hit and controlling the fight

See it for yourselves:

Hey listen, you don't need to try to redeem Aldo from that. It clearly wasn't a good round for him. He still won the fight though. And it was an incredible fight.

he wasnt ill, he had a bad cut and gassed out.

TS is Aldo?

Let it go, Jose. We know you weren't 100%.

Lately my tennis elbow has been acting up again. Think I should see a doctor?

Aldo will be trying to take Frankie down all fight long after he gets tagged by the better boxer,he was getting hit often by Hominick and he did't have to worry about a take down in that fight,in his fight with Frankie he will.

Wat? Aldo slipped through 90% of Hominick's punches.

cant see it, Aldo will light Frankie up with kicks and knees.... he also has fast hands and more power than Frankie. Frankie will be the one shooting takedowns in the fight

So much 2011...

This is a good photo to back up OP:

Hominick can barely keep his left eye open, and I'm not even going to make any cheesy jokes about that hematoma (not a good angle, there are better photos, just google image search "Hominick Aldo"). Aldo has control of both of Hominick's arms, and Hominick is either looking at the clock, or at his corner, for an idea of what to do. Hominick fought his heart out, but he did not come close to finishing Aldo, just won a 10-9 round in a fight that perhaps should have been stopped earlier due to that hematoma / left eye swelling.

i wouldnt say he was destroyed, but he was badly gassed in the fifth and if he was in with a guy like Edgar he wouldve been finished. i dont buy this pulling guard crap, he was exhausted and was taken down

You're going to be surprised at how well Frankie does in the stand up.If Aldo was that good why did he take Hominick down, why not keep the fight standing if you are that good on the feet.

thanks for the proof TS. aldo was dominated in the 5th just like the video shows.

Are you really saying Aldo is not good on the feet? My god.

He was trying to preserve his energy and thought he could stall on the ground. You would know this if you ever trained.

its called tactics, takedowns score well with judges. Aldo won the striking exchanges the majority of the time

Frankie isnt as good on his feet as Jose, most certainly doesnt have as much power in either his punches or kicks either

The 5th round of that fight is so exaggerated and ill remembered. If you rematch that that round Aldo avoided, blocked or the punches that did landed were weak. Aldo was never in danger of being finished. He was exhausted no doubt but never rocked.
