So a guy with no fighting footage, only small light sparring videos(rare) is supposed to be this bad ass, that would do great in the early ufc? Sorry I don't buy it, but this myth has been perpetuated on the internet boards. This thread comes from a discussion I had with a co-worker. He said Bruce Lee was the goat and would beat any one. I just asked him about some footage and he shut up very quick. Now my opinion is that he can be called a pioneer of early martial arts in the western world. But I don't buy this invisible aura.
Thoughts?

Do I believe he was an above average fighter?...Sure

Do I believe that he was the baddest man to ever walk the earth?....Hell no

If the UFC has shown us anything it's that all fighters lose eventually

Except JBJ so far

And don't give me that Hamill stuff

Sherdog AKA infection.What's your opinion?

Bruce is real,well,alive...

Was he the baddest man on the planet? No

Was he good enough to be competitive in UFC 1? Maybe

I don't think he was invisible. I clearly saw him.

Agreement that while he was a devoted practitioner and likely excellent fighter, he probably wouldn't have stood out too prominently in the age of the cage
Sounds like poetry

With my modern knowledge of MMA I bet I would school him.

seems like theres' a new anti Bruce Lee post on this site everyday.

That's one guy right there, I wouldn't have been shocked to hear BJ beat him

Even 19th century dandy boxer BJ? Bruce would have knocked his top hat and monocle off and pulled his handlebar moustache.

would do great in the early UFC? who says that? early UFC had not weight classes, well 2 later one, but still well above Lee's weight. he wouldnt do very well.
given time to train and fighting same-sized people? he would wreck them. he was a freak of human nature. crazy genetics, crazy work ethics.
