The brilliant strategy from Cain's team in defeating JDS: Clinch JDS early, make JDS his use bicep muscles to hold onto Cain's arm to defend the takedown as long as he can to wear his arms out.

Worn out arm muscles = slower, less powerful punches.

    Simple and brilliant strategy.

Watching the fight made me think about what they said regarding GSP/Penn 2

And that was that GSP was trying to get Penn's arms to fill up with blood so they would be heavy and slow and lose power

edit: ironically, out of all the things that went wrong for JDS, he didn't seem to lose power.

Cain's main strategy appeared to be; be better than JDS at everything.

Yep, exactly this. I noticed JDS' punches were much slower and less powerful.

This is probably even worse for someone like JDS, whose arms are not used to lots of wrestling and grappling. The lactic acid buildup in the arms would sap whatever speed and power there are.

looks like even JDS zombie mode can land elbows . proves my theory that elbows are easy to land and thats why they are Jones best weapon since they are so long, they have distance of punches.

Good strategy. That was Lesnar's strategy against Couture.

Good example! If I remember correctly, Lesnar's strategy was aimed at tiring out Couture's arms so he couldn't wrestle? Or was the strategy aimed at neutralizing Couture's boxing?
