The biggest superstars the UFC ever had were Kimbo/Brock.

Let that sink in for a minute. A youtube street fighter and a professional wrestler. UFC needs to learn to build stars on their own when a youtube street fighter has more promo than they can build their FW champ.

They sure do, but it's not their fault. Bringing in those guys actually indirectly helps them build their own stars by drawing the spotlight to the sport.

Or maybe, people are just tools and the UFC can't change that fact.

Also, Chuck was very very popular

Throughout the years that I've watched MMA, Chuck in his prime was the most talked about by everyday people including my own very old grandmother. So I feel the biggest star in UFC history was Chuck from like 05 to 08.

He was at least briefly. He had the most watched TUF finale, and it wasn't even close. They had 6 million viewers for it, and I think the next closest finale had like 2.5mil

Yea Kimbo was by no means a good MMA fighter, but he tripled the UFCs TUF viewers. Dude was popular as hell regardless of his skill

    Double LOL.

I had to go back and watch Petruzelli-Slice just because of that. Hilarious EliteXC commentators gushing afterwards like it's the Miracle On Ice.

I'd say Chuck was for sure a bigger draw/star than Kimbo. Lesnar clearly was the biggest star the UFC ever had but Chuck was pretty damn big. Tito, Randy, Anderson and GSP all had moments where they were pretty big too. As well as others I'm forgetting. It's not up to the UFC to build stars, it's up to them to put on fights between the best fighters in the world and hope a champ turns out to be a star. Sonnen as champ woulda been huge for them but they can't fix fights. Jones is probably the best star champ they got right now and it's because everyone hates him lol, it is what it is a big star will emerge at some point.

    Kimbo? Please.

Tony Halme had more star power than Kimbo. And let's not forget the likes of James Toney AND Ken Shamrock.
