No, just NO. Look, I'm a pretty big JDS hater, like one of the first haters JDS had, way before pretty much anyone. But he won this fight very clearly... It's really mind boggling that there are people who says it could've gone either way.

Anyway, it doesn't mean that Overeem will beat Stipe. I actually give stipe 60% of winning against reem... Reem has no reach advantage over him like he did with AA and JDS and Stipe speed coupled with his great straight punches will fuck reem up.

JDS is a good boxer, but he doesn't have stipe's reach and as good straight punches, which are the keys points to beat reem. That's one of the reasons why Stipe will succeed where JDS failed. Also the fact that stipe will try to take reem down will give reem more to think and calculate so his striking defence and offense will suffer more than IN the jds fight

Why would you hate JDS...? I suppose even the nicest, most exciting guys have some haters.

The fight *was* close - though clearly JDS IMO. 49-46 or 48-47.

I think Reem vs. Stipe is basically 50/50. Either could win.

jds had that fight in the bag for sure. i never understood how peeps thought stipe took it.

Close rounds but the fight was clear for Junior.

I think Stipe could adjust and do better in a rematch.

I think the issue was more that Stipe pushed JDS to the limit when JDS was expected to knock his block off.

It's a loss that had a huge positive impact on Stipe and left me thinking Stipe would probably win the rematch

I would agree JDS clearly beat Stipe 48-47 although theres perhaps some question on wheather he depended on landing that big shot in the 3rd. Personally I think you could also say the opposite and Stipe was quite lucky to survive that match with the shots Jnr landed.

Stipe definitely has a better counter game to forward movement than Jnr does(although ironically Jnr's best counter ever was on Stipe) but I'm not sure his reach alone is THAT much of an issue. Overeem didn't beat JDS by his reach, indeed Overeem hardly ever throws jabs and instead used the threat of the body kick counter to keep Jnr at range and then lunged in with his own big counter.

I think it is possible that Stipe might catch Overeem looking to do the latter, he does tend to step into an aweful lot of his offence which does leave an opening for a counter.

this i understand. i was feeling that way my self. but just seeing a guy not get completely starched and put up a valiant battle doesnt mean they won.

you live up to your screen-name .

That's what stupid people say

Your OP is imbecilic garbage. I never cease to be amazed when I log on here and read some wall of useless text and think to myself, "wow, this guy is actually this stupid, and felt this asinine trype seriously needed to be posted."

No it's the truth, the fight was close. They both beat the shit out each other.

Stipe was expected to get slaughtered, but he didn't. A lot of people were questioning whether not JDS should continue based on how hard of a fight Stipe gave him.

I'm sure you're no scholar, douchebag.

The Aldo/Edgar fight has the same syndrome attached.

It's not like Aldo dominated effortlessly, but he won 3-2 at worst, and can easily be given 4-1, and yet some fans have somehow been able to fully convince themselves that Frankie won.

That said, I have Frankie in the rematch. Never bet against Frankie "King of the Rematches" Edgar in a second (or third) go round.
