Not a massive Braveheart fan(besides the battles and McGoogan) but yeah that was a pretty dam strong year if you add...

    The Usual Suspsects
    Before Sunrise
    Exotica
    Get Shorty
    Toy Story
    Goldeneye

I spose if you look at it by which year would be the hardest to pick out a favourite film for me maybe 1979 with Alien, Apoc Now and Stalker, all of which might well be in a top 20-30 for me.

    Plus...

    Annie Hall
    Suspira
    The Duelists
    Eraserhead

Generally I tend to think that era of the late 70's and early 80''s was a fertile time because you had so many movements overlapping, the New Wave still relatively strong, modern Blockbusters taking off, Horror hitting a peak.

    1982

    Blade Runner
    The Wrath of Khan
    The Thing
    Rambo/First Blood
    ET
    Poltergeist
    The Road Warrior
    Fitzcarraldo
    The King of Comedy
