Is if he knocks out Gane into “Bolivian”, then follows up with too many shots until he gets DQ’d. They don’t have to be brutal shots but enough to get DQ’d.

He would lose the title and not be bound by the champion’s clause. But he would also have definitely gotten the better of Gane.

Other suggestions I’ve seen for Francis to lose the fight is to not do much and drop a decision loss. Or get DQ’d early. Neither of these options prove that he could beat Gane.

Nah best option for Francis is to nuke Gane like he does everyone else, then the UFC will be more willing to play ball with him.

Worst case scenario for UFC is if Ngannou nukes Gane, sits out his contract and goes to Bellator. Would be bad for UFC if we "know" the top HW is in another promotion and he devalued the UFC's next best guy.

Best case is to win without controversy and force the UFC to pay him more before his next fight even happens.
The UFC will be shitting its pants at the thought of losing Ngannou at that point.

Dana's posturing of "if he wants to be with us then, great if not that's fine"

Are just words. He definitely wants NGannou with the UFC.

Bellator can't pay the money that Ngannou is demanding. That's why he's insisting on being allowed to box.

If he really wanted to stick it to Dana and the UFC, he could win the title then immediately relinquish it or allow himself to get stripped. Then he goes to boxing to cash in as unbeaten UFC heavyweight champion.

UFC lawyers made contracts iron clad. You can’t sit out a contract and go to a competitor or even box. You have to fight it out.

If Francis wins it auto extend his contract via the champion’s clause and Francis doesn’t have leverage to negotiate. Only reason UFC would pay him more salary is out of the goodness of their hearts. They would not be legally obliged to.

I don't know if it would be the best outcome, but if he gets taken down and submitted he can always still claim "I was the better striker. Let me show you in boxing."
Should result in little to no injury recovery time, no loss of his Boxing credentials/sales, he gets out of his contract/clause.

His best outcome is a huge KO that goes viral and boosts his fame and bargaining power with Dana. Then he can command more money and a boxing match.

His contract extends if he wins the title. Francis can’t bargain shit.

UFC 270 will fall short of 600,000 buys even with Greg Hardy and Michel Pereira helping a bit.

The key to unlocking Ngannou as a draw is to have him fight Jon Jones and KO him. Unfortunately, the UFC was too cheap and short-sighted to make that happen.
