I think this movie was really a masterpiece and pretty much one of the MOST underrated films of all time.
Not to mention, the performance of Brad Pitt here was Oscar nom-worthy too same with Casey

What's your take on this movie?

Fantastic movie. The one that finally sold me on Casey Affleck. Great score by Nick Cave.

Hugely underrated. Love the whole cadence of the film.

Also sold me on casey affleck. Didn't love the movie but some of the acting was great.

Love absolutely everything about the film. Brilliant performances all around, great score. Some really tense scenes which I love in movies. Andrew Dominik is flawless so far. Chopper and killing them softly also great.

I think Brad Pitt said it's the best film he's ever been in.

Brad is also amazing in Legends of the Fall, another really fantastic but underrated film.

Casey Affleck gave two of the greatest performances of all-time in that same year: with this, and Gone, Baby, Gone. If I had a Top 25 performances for the 21st century both would make the cut.

As usual, I come to appreciate Brad Pitt more with time. His is truly an actor who ages like a fine wine. Outside of 12 Monkeys I'd say that every one of his acclaimed performances I have appreciated more as I've gotten older, or with repeated viewings.

The Departed was a monster, tough to argue with that, but it was a disgrace to nominate The Queen and Babel over those two films in the Best Picture category. The former was an actor's project, and the latter should have been restricted to writing and music for the artistic awards.

That year also had The Lives of Others duking it out with Pan's Labyrinth in the foreign film section.

Go watch the film in the OP, and watch this. It's a City of God level foreign film, but so few have seen it. Cinema at its absolute finest:

Gone baby gone was a great movie but i wouldn't say one of the best of all time. Honestly it's not even casey afflecks best acting performance to me. That'd be manchester by the sea. I'll probably never watch it again but it's one of the more emotional movies I've ever seen and he was rhe best actor I've ever seen display a broken man.

What's the name of the movie?
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford?

It had the disadvantage of course of coming out in 2007 next to the likes of No COuntry For Old Men, There Will be Blood and Zodiac.

I seem to remember this movie sucking a fresh ass and being slow as fuck, but I suppose I can give it another try...

Its very slow but it doesnt suck ass
I was expecting more of a shoot em up western though and was surprised that it was a character piece so I could see how people might not like it based on that

I was surprised at how good Carville was in his tiny role.

Casey is the only reason anyone should watch this movie. Brad was terrible like always.
