To quote the great Ed Coan: "It's not against the rules to use steroids, it's against the rules to get caught using steroids."
Yeah, I know the Poms have no moral highground. But minty spit is still quite a different level than sandpaper stuffed in your undies.

100% agree. Minty spit is clever and cheeky, the sandpaper was a bad look for sure.

I'll settle for that. Will be a fucking long night though, not sure I have enough beer to make it to stumps then. LOL

So let's agree he's one of the GOATs of test batting, but not suited to ever be Aussie cap again. Deal?

The way he leaves the ball is just a thing of beauty/ autism. ;)

They tried mate. Really disappointing neither man could make 100 though. I don’t know what they can take out of this match at the moment.

Was hoping they'd move it to the Manuka grounds. I'd pop on over then.

Englands fortunes dramatically changed today. Wickets came hard and quick.

Won by 9 wickets, should have been 10. Nice relaxing Saturday afternoon. Going to go for a walk and soak it up

I could never make a mint last long enough when I played. I was a very liberal user of sunblock though. There was a spot on my forehead that used to just drink up sunblock and needed a lot of reapplication

Chris Pringle's (one) great moment. If you read all teh books, it was in retaliation to the Pakistanis doing the same. When you get the ball to start reverse swinging in the 20th odd over, you kinda have to think something is happening. That and the impossible task that was to get Miandad LBW in Karachi....

They call that out too now in the day of drop in pitches... Umpires calling out players for bouncing it back to the keeper aiming for the pitch or the edges of the block LOL.

Ashes: England fined and docked World Test Championship points for a slow over rate in First Test defeat (msn.com)

England’s crushing nine-wicket defeat to Australia at the Gabba became a little more painful when they were fined and docked World Test Championship points for a slow over rate.

ICC Match Referee David Boon fined England 100 per cent of their match fees, and docked them five points in the WTC.

They were five overs behind the required rate on the second day, when they fielded all day as Australia racked up 425.

    /

Boon also fined Travis Head, the man of the match, 15 per cent of his fee for using an audible obscenity while batting.

The 15% for Head was pre written. They just had to include the name of any random player

Hazlewood out for the next test and maybe even Warner. I assume Richardson comes in for Hazlewood but if Warner is out Khawaja comes in and Harris keeps his spot you'd assume.

ouch. Out of 5 matches so far, they've only earned 16 points in total, of which 7 have been taken away on penalties, leaving 9 points. Only achieving 15% of their possible points.
