He came into the UFC with a wrestle heavy style that usually worked thanks to his pedigree and athleticism. Somewhere along the way he realized he could punch and became more reliant on that, which has led to his downfall on more than one occasion.

Going in to his fight against Theodorou, he stands to have every physical advantage. Yet, despite being faster, stronger, a better wrestler, and much more powerful striker, he is a slight underdog.

He switched camps for this fight and is definitely at a crossroads in his career. Do you think he can put it all together tonight, or do you think Elias will outsmart, outwork, smother and frustrate him???

He's gonna lose. He can't doesn't do good in decisions, which is what Elias thrives in.

    Prime Brunson was a beast

Pretty crazy that old man Anderson beat him (5-1 at the time, with 5 KOs). It shows how great Anderson Silva is, to take a risky fight like this and still pull it off at 43 years old

Brunson is a fundamentally flawed fighter with a poor chin but I think he's actually a bad matchup for Elias (and yes I did put money on him as an underdog)

Elias doesn't have the power of guys that have KO'd Brunson in the past, plus he was getting rocked all over the place by Anders' left hand which is nowhere near as powerful or fast as Brunson's. Elias also won't be able to hold Brunson against the fence like he did Anders because Brunson is the far superior wrestler and the stronger man.

Brunson had the talent to hang with anyone but he has perhaps the worst fight IQ in the UFC right now (the Whittaker fight being a shining example of this) and because of this, he will never reach elite status.

His defense/chin are average at best as well and having multiple KO losses now has made him even more vulnerable to the point he's borderline out of the top 10 now. What a waste

Yeah. His fights usually end in the 1st round, win or lose. Good power, but a glass jaw and horrible fight IQ. I think Boring Theodorou is a fight for him. Should have given Brunson to a better MW.

That being said, not like Theodorou has great power. So who knows.

Brunson just needs to show a little composure and he'll do much better. He said pre fight he knows he needs to fight smarter so we'll see.

    hope he KO's Elias Theoboreo

Oddly enough, i'm excited to see this fight. I dont really enjoy the fighting style but it makes it interesting to see if he can keep playing the system. Not sure what to expect, Bruson says he will play it cool and wait for the knockout to come to him.. Has he ever fought like that before? I've only seen his last 5 or 6 fights but he fought like a honey bager in those

Brunson is difficult to bet on. He seems like a completely impulse driven fighter so he generally looks to be out of his depth or a monster in fights. His chin is ok but he's just so sloppy with his hands anyone can punch a ticket to the penthouse, maybe even Elias. That said, whenever I discount brunson he proves himself, so I'll intentionally pick him to lose thus ensuring the defeat of the spartan instead. Mwhahaha

7 losses, 5 times finished by (T)KO, 2 times by SD and UD vs Silva (many believe he won it)

I don't think the boxing led to his downfall.
He won many fights in UFC thanks to his boxing.
He just isn't that good vs guys like Jacare, Whittaker, Adesanya, Romero. He doesn't have the fight IQ, he isn't a top wrestler or a top boxer.
Of course he is slight underdog, he was finished in his last 2 fights and he is 2-4 right now.
Theodorou was never finishes, he is 16-2, on 3 fights winning streak.
I am watching his loss vs Thiago Santos, curious to know how he lost the decision.
Santos was much bigger, in the first place.
Theodorou dropped him with a kick in the 1st round and dominated the round.
He lost badly the last round. The fight could have been a tie.

He had a good chin, he took some good shots from Santos.
    His cardio was bad, though.

Come on, everyone knows Brunson won that fight, terrible decision. Outworked him easily 2 out 3 rounds, that decision was a gift

Brunson beat Silva and if he was 5 fight IQ points higher he would have beat Whittaker.
