Don't feel like PMing a Mod to make a poll but what do you think is the actual reason Tony's been screwed over and/or will continue to keep getting screwed over for a Title Shot..

Is it:
A- Dana just doesn't like him
B- He just isn't a draw
C- He missed his opportunity due to the cable incident and just has to climb back up
D- Dana just wants to capitalize on Conor's star power for as long as possible $$$
E- Hes not even screwing him over, its just how it played out.
Or a combination of two...

What do you think?

All of the above. Dana doesn't seem to like him, he sold 200k PPVs against Kevin Lee, he did trip over a wire and get injured, Dana wants Conor to fight more than he wants Tony to fight, and this is sort of how a situation like this plays out

F- He's not a handsome marketable Chad
G- He is the biggest threat to Dana's cash cows (Conor in terms of raw revenue power, and Khabib in terms of growing the sport in the MENA region + Russia)

I think it's a combination of bad luck and getting screwed over.

His Spanish is not as good as Cain's.

The 155 and 170 pound divisions are always stacked and the downside is that there is a backlog of fights for the title that should happen. You have fighters in these weight classes that have 6 wins in a row with no title shot where the heavy divisions, if you have 4 or 5 wins in a row, you are probably the champ.

The winner of the Khabib/Dustin fight could be hurt and be out 6 months or a year. Tony will need to fight again. And then Conner could come back and cut in line in front of Tony.

The bottom line is there are very few title fights anymore. Out of 12 divisions there were I think only 14 title fights last year. It should be double that.

The fact tony cant sell ppv blows my mind!? That guy brings it every fuckin time

The only reason why Ferguson has not fought for a belt yet is Ferguson. Failed to show up for his interim title defense at UFC 223. Missed the opportunity to fight Max which would have given him the next title shot... only to fight Cowboy. His inbred nutsack garglers, however, will pretend that Dana is screwing him over and Khabib is ducking him

And then you have retards whining about interim belts being "unneeded".

I think it's how it played out. His life has had so many obstacles and Conor jumped line and didn't defend. It's all because of Conor. UFC couldn't market tony with Conor as champ and everyone wanted Conor/Khabib.

Tony doesn't have 6 wins in a row. He has double that. Twelve. Let that sink in. 12. In a row. With 9 finishes.

Your point overall is definitely still valid, but at some point it goes beyond ridiculous.

If Dana wants any semblance of credibility (and granted, at this point he just may not care) he'd announce right now that Tony fights the winner of Dustin/Khabib, period.

Right LoL

WW got like 10 guys on 7+ fight win streaks and nobody even knows who they are

H - He's mentally unstable and therefore a big PR risk for WME. Can't have a champ murdering his wife because Jesus is hiding in the wallpaper.

Tony Ferguson might be the least marketable of the top 5 lightweights. can you imagine him on the Conan show?
He ain’t a draw and he’s had some bad luck. He better be on weight for September.

C and E

He's done it to himself

Refusing a main event fight against Max and taking Cowboy instead as just a regular main card fight

Does bad business

You can't blame Dana for being in no rush to book Tony X Khabib 5 just for one of them to pull out and Tony made it easy on him.

Not a draw B.. and most important Dana doesn't think he is reliable and by that I mean from everything, marketing this guy, mental stability, have him speak to a freaking ESPN reporter and have the world see his 'ways' of being, Dana ain't sure the juice is worth the squeeze with this one.

UFC is first a business and way less a sport all this prize fighting is about entertainment cause that is what makes the money yet some things can't be denied especially when you have won fight after fight the fans will notice this guy taking out other top contenders and will want to see him go for the belt even if it's not the best for Dana and his company. Only way he gets sidetracked again is because of Conor/Dana/Ali getting their wish the Khabib rematch.
