D.C. started off 2018 by defending his LHW belt against Volkan Oezdemir, defeating him via TKO in the 2nd round. Not content with just one belt, Cormier then moved to HW to face the champ Stipe Miocic. D.C. was able to beat Stipe with a 1st round KO thus making him a double champ. He finished the year defending his HW belt against Derrick Lewis, beating him via rear naked choke.

Amanda Nunes (17-4)

Amanda Nunes defended her Bantamweight belt in May against Raquel Pennington. She was able to secure the victory in the 5th round via TKO. She then moved up to Featherweight to face the long standing champ Chris Cyborg. Nunes was able to beat her in just 51 seconds, winning her second belt in the process.

Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0)

Khabib defeated Al Iaquinta in April to win the vacant LW belt. He then went on to face Conor McGregor who had been stripped of the belt in April due to inactivity. Khabib won the fight via neck crank in the 4th round, extending his undefeated streak to 27.

He returned to the octagon in August where he won a decision against Kevin Holland. Let me contemplate this..? DC 2belts 2divisions but you didn't beat Jones for one those belts juice boxed or not. Nunes 2belts 2divisions both belts earned won legit beat the baddest woman on the planet by KO! that's real . Khabib running in the packed LW without a loss..? Beat the one guy I wanted beat and beat good even is children feel the pain, then go beat up his opponents corner in Vegas, that's big tings!

Nunes gets the nod just pubic hair split over my Mad flying Russian Khabib.....

Amanda, and I'm not a fan of wmma

Because DC
-tested by Usada prior to MMA
-Undefeated at HW. At 5'11
-Undefeated at LHW {besides TurinaBones}
-Fought in the UFC in the USADA era
-beat Bigfoot {after the Fedor win}
-beat Barnett, ufc champ
-beat Mir, 2x ufc champ
-beat Miocic, 4x ufc champ
-2018, defended two belts

DC is the Natty GOAT

Nunes KO'ed a fighter in a weight class higher that has looked unbeatable for 12 years. That alone should be fighter of the year.

Daniel Cormier easily.
Defends the LHW title, moves up to fight Stipe and win the HW belt, and then proceeds to defend it all in the same year.

Bader should at least get an honorable mention for going up in weight and winning both his fights, one an insta-KO and the other a 30-24 domination, absorbing zero significant strikes en route to the tournament final.
